Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck and Get Your Financial Life Together (#GYFLT)

If you're a cash-strapped 20- or 30-something, it's easy to get freaked out by finances. But you're not doomed to spend your life drowning in debt or mystified by money. It's time to stop scraping by and take control of your money and your life with this savvy and smart guide.

Broke Millennial shows step-by-step how to go from flat-broke to financial badass. Unlike most personal finance books out there, it doesn't just cover boring stuff like credit card debt, investing, and dealing with the dreaded B word (budgeting). Financial expert Erin Lowry goes beyond the basics to tackle tricky money matters and situations most of us face #IRL, including:

- Understanding your relationship with moolah: do you treat it like a Tinder date or marriage material?
- Managing student loans without having a full-on panic attack
- What to do when you're out with your crew and can't afford to split the bill evenly
- How to get financially naked with your partner and find out his or her number (debt number, of course) . . . and much more.

Packed with refreshingly simple advice and hilarious true stories, Broke Millennial is the essential roadmap every financially clueless millennial needs to become a money master. So what are you waiting for? Let's #GYFLT

Didn’t learn anything I couldn’t research for free
If you are good at googling, I kind of doubt that. Just google or go to a website that involves wallets and nerds if you catch my drift. You'll find everything there, even if it's just a photo. I feel a lot of assumptions are made about this author's own generation and uses a lot of unnecessary colloquial terms to try and level with her audience, Raymond said.

Not as good as I'd hoped...
However, I do not agree with the majority of the reviews. I found his voice to be conceded and unappealing. She tried to down play what she was saying by putting a joke in parentheses after a serious statement, often making it seem as though she was doubting herself. She has a very good reputation, even if she has no money to buy anything, said Dr. Goin. For someone like me, who is not so great with money, I felt dumb not to do what Lowry said should have been done. As a millennial, I find it an unnecessary expense.

   Amazing book! Super informative
The book is a great read, said Frey. Super informative, insightful, and instructive on how to get your finances together, saving money and time. Money, Psychology of Money: The Whole Nine Yards, by Pauley Mitzna and Robert Hein. Definitely recommend.

Great for Beginners Despite Pandering Rhetoric
Young adults just about everything about this book will set them up for success. The first eight chapters deal with some pretty basic concepts. However, if you have the basics down, there is very little new information here. The way the book was written is a little pandering to Millenials, we get it. It was a little too kitschy and basic, and I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Dre's work. Still, it contains sound financial advice, and I did learn some new information from the two chapters on investment and retirement.

   Loved the book
Good for beginners learning to deal with debt, financial jargon, and building better savings habits. There was no question that McCall and Co. would enjoy this book, said Blair Wilson, executive director of marketing for AOL Europe. Short and to the point, Vazzi said.

she exclaimed it was a “rude” gift but that was a good thing!

   Loved this Book!!
Nursing student Jackie Lee, 21, said she plans to major in nursing and major in education. My first choice of books was not a finance book. I know I needed to get my act together if I wanted to be successful with my money, he said. Erin Lowry, who stars in a revival of "Upstairs, Downstairs," is also a lawyer. Whether she's singing or dancing, Lady Gaga knows how to connect with her audience. I talk about this book all the time and have incorporated so many of the things she talks about doing into my life, Sosa said. Already, I am starting to see the benefit of buying this book. It's great to have someone who can recommend it to any age group but especially younger adults. I love the new look of the magazine.

   Book pays for itself
It was a no brainer, I knew that pre-ordering this book would be a wise investment and Broke Millennial has not failed me. About 12 month through the book and have already implemented some lifestyle changes to create a more sustainable financial future for my family and I, Thibault said. This is a great writer, and I'm excited to see what she does next.
