I love this book! '' I had never made a really cute cake before and this book helped me make the steps to making a really nice or detailed cake for my daughter's birthday. The book is very user friendly and easy to follow. The cake and icing recipes are easy and delicious and decorating ideas and techniques were great! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wishes they could make professional looking cakes, but has very little baking experience!

A more appropriate title for this book would be cake baking for beginners. It was mostly recipes and very little actual decorating, which is what I bought the book for. It even lacks most of the basics of cake decorating. You will not find instructions for even a different flur de lis or different cake borders, but complete cake recipes for maybe 5 different cakes instead. I don 't need recipes. I need decorating ideas ''. For me, this book was a complete waste.

This is a great book for beginners. It is a great book for beginners. It contains a lot of information and tips. My only problem is the quality of the book. The cover looks nice, but the interior is very poor in quality. It looks like someone printed it off their home printer and didn 't bother to change the ink. I would have given it more stars if the quality was better. The review has no negativity towards the content.

I love everything about this book ''. It first outlines the exact reason why I was looking for and ended up purchasing this book because I could never find a one shot spot where I can learn all the basic cake baking steps and tools needed to get me started. This book is not only well written with exact details and pictures with precise measurements, but also illustrated with exact details and pictures. Recommendations on the tools used to buy down to all ingredients. This is definitely a must have for a beginner like me and you if that is what you are looking for in my pictures, you see the cake in the book and my attempted version, it was not exactly, but I was so proud of myself and tasted delicious Thanx Rose!!

You're a cake boss and wonder how they do it. The Food TV network and oh my god, they make it look like complicated. I usually get a lot of cake, I usually get the sugar free mixes and make it all up for you should not even make regular old sheet cakes interesting, but it never actually looked fancy. The shows what to do when you wanna make it. It looks good enough to eat the book itself, but you can 't. This is a book for cake lovers, why do you wanna make them or just look at how they do. It is good to read.

Great for Diving into Cake Decorating!

I work for many clients who request cupcakes, cakes, etc. constantly above. I often tell them no, because I can make a cake and cupcakes, but when it comes to things like making them cute or frosting them in a way that doesn 't look on them like a child went wild, there is no way that's happening. Since I read this book, however, it has changed the game for me completely. The biggest things it has helped me so far is understanding frosting tips, using the RIGHT frosting, some recipes for the latter frosting info, etc. I'm going to make a cakey cake next using the book and I'm excited to be more confident in general about tiered stuff! The picture is my first pull-apart cupcake cake using the tips of the book.

I bought this book as I am a new cake decorator. It is fantastic and perfect for any beginner, and is perfect for any. The book is a mix of detailed instructions with pictures together with a few recipes and decorating ideas. Made two of the cakes and learned how to make beautiful buttercream decorations. The family loves to see what is next.
