Basic guidance in a bit of a blur

Information is great. This book only misses the mark due to the poor quality of the photos. The poor photo quality makes the message lost in the blur. The color and glossy and smaller would have been the answer.

The book I think will help, but the pictures are all blurry or low and some are black and white. Because they are low in quality, it is hard to understand what you are looking for for some of them, but the book seems to get the point across. I tried to see if I have purchased the bargain version, but it appears that this is the only version available. I award the book 3 stars, but I am about to start reading in and if it is a great book, I will change the post to 4*.

This is a good book to have on the book shelf, i think this book is both easy to understand and i use it a lot to shoe dog owners behaviors that their dog may not be the most professional book i have, but a must have!!! i recommend this book to everyone.

This is a very comprehensive photo guide for the dog - body language with plenty of b&w - photos and explanations. By any means, Aloff is not a professional writer and you have to overlook a lot of typos, but she obviously understands dogs completely. I have been trying to figure out why my dog got into fights with other dogs and this book gave me the tools to understand dogs and their interactions with each other.

Crappy Photos for a 'Photographic Guide'...

Since this book is supposed to be a photographic guide, I thought it would have good color photos in it. Instead, they are all black & white, grainy, blurry, and white pictures. Some of the text is missing on a few pages, it stops mid-sentence & does not continue on the next page or anywhere else on the page. I did give it an It's Ok '' rating, though, despite the terrible photos '' displaying certain looks or behaviors, the author does explain in fairly good detail what is going on in the dogs'minds when they present bad looks or behaviors. But unless you have personally experienced with dogs and can only learn what the author is talking about, it would be hard to know just from looking at the photos in this book. They aren't good enough photos for the novice dog ownertrainer to catch some of the more subtle looks '' in the dogs pictured.

Natural guide to understanding and training your dog using its outstanding speech and signals. Good notes for retraining dogs that have been socialized improperly. Excellent photographs to compare do's and don 'ts and look for trouble brewing. The way it understands with your dog is how it interacts. Brilliant Book '' ; absolutely recommend.
