This was one of my favorite books as a child and now it's my daughter's favorite books!

   Classic Story!
My 2 year old loves reading this story. A peddler with all the caps on his head is trying to sell his wares. Since no one was buying them, he took a nap by a tree, and discovered that a bunch of monkeys were imitating his angry actions. It's really fun to read, because we act it out, with the tsk tsk sound. My daughter loves to predict what the monkeys will do next and I like the pattern of the story. The illustrations are vintage and simple, which is something I like about them. In my second grade class, I use this book to recognize story elements and act them out as well. It is a classic and highly recommended.

   Good intro to a classic story for grab-happy kids, but I miss the original full version
I adore this story, and this little board book got my son hooked on it, but it lacks some of the familiar rhythm that makes the original story so great. When my son stops tearing apart paper pages, we will switch to the original version.

I was excited to share the story of Caps for Sale with my 3 year old because I was a big fan of the book. It did not fail to impress. My daughter was very happy during the first reading. We have read it every night for the past few weeks and she loves it. She loves to act out all of the Peddler's and the monkeys' actions, which entertains anyone who happens to be nearby at storytime, and always ends with her dissolving into tears of laughter. It was a lot of fun! Caps for Sale is a great place to buy for kids of all ages.

   Timeless Tale
Our granddaughter lives on the other side of the country so she reads her stories on the phone. My own kids were fond of this book when they were young. She always chooses the first story we read. She laughs at the antics of the monkeys and finishes the sentence. The story is cute and we enjoy seeing it through our granddaughter's eyes. The book is very good.

   Wonderful Children's Book!!!!
I used to read it to my children a lot. They loved that I shook my fist like a cap maker. I don't know a child who doesn't like the story and the colors are pretty. I bought a copy for my granddaughter, and she loves it. A great addition to any children's book collection!

   Story is abridged...vocabulary lost
It's fun to listen to the story as the peddler calls for Caps for sale and I love it. Some wonderful vocabulary is lost with the board book version, but you still get the basics of the story. It was a sad day.

   What's Not To Like About This Little Gem of a Children's Book?
There's a lot to like about this book. Great pictures show the story. The way the story is told is very clever. There are lots of opportunities to get the children involved in copying the antics of the monkeys. It was long enough to read through at one enjoyable sitting. I bought this copy for someone else. I read it to my son and my friends' children, and I knew it was a good choice. It is a great gift and the price makes it ideal. Have a good time!

This is a book that I love. I like to read it to my boys. My son has been asking me to read it at east twice a day since he got it, he loves the part about the monkeys.

   Abridged story! :(
I was disappointed to discover that the book isn't the entire story. It's been reduced, even though there is no mention in the advertisement of it being reduced. We are very disappointed. It is!
