Wales and Ireland with language and beautiful artwork that incorporates elements of the story in the ...
What I love about the stories is that they are UNPREDICTABLE, Rowling said. And when you think that the author is about to tie the tale up with a traditional happy ending, there are often a surprising twist. My brother has started reading the companion book, The Ghostly Tales, and I hear that they cannot put it down at bedtime!

   It is Okay
It's just that the whole thing is edited for an American audience. He was not creative, the translator said.

   Good Folktales
Four Celtic regions Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Brittany wrote the stories. They're all public domain, but I didn't know they existed in publicly accessible websites. This ebook wasn't terribly expensive and I learned that there are all these great resources that I can plumb for free lovely fairy and folk tales all I want, Heather said. The author compiler includes hyperlinks to the websites that house these stories and more. The artwork that's included in the ebook is quaint and matches the themes of each of the stories.

   They All Ended In Happiness
Although these stories appeared to be similar to many of the stories I was told as a child, I found them fascinating. There is a moral to all of these stories that should be shared with your children. Let them enjoy!

A passionate woman who writes enchanting stories, Gillian Conlon has a book out Monday. In fact, I read Tobey's book to both my kids while they were on stroller walks.

Must Read for those who enjoy Different Cultures
I love reading stories from other cultures, especially childrens tales as I feel they give a good picture of how that culture has formed and developed over time, he said. I think these stories capture this more so than other collections. There are also many unique stories to be told, many of which are not readily available. The variety of tales, the descriptions and the vividness of them all capture all the readers attention. The pictures were added to the stories after the fact.

   Not the brothers Grimm
I've enjoyed reading these stories, from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Brittany. They are not the same stories that are read every day.

... the illustrations at the beginning of each story were beautiful. love reading mythology
This collection of stories is amazingly put together and the illustrations at the beginning of each story were beautiful, too. love reading mythology, so for me this was a great find, Ms. Caramore said. Even though I had read most of these stories, I was not that familiar with them. I will be keeping this as I know I will want to revisit these stories again and again.

They make good bed time reading with the kids
I was not familiar with these stories. It's great to be able to read to your kids, Mr. Hughes said. Like many fairy tales, awful things happen to innocent maidens, such as being eaten by monsters. There are some nice illustrations at the beginning of each chapter.
