I have taught chess to children from 4 to 11 years old. This is my go-to book for the younger players, that is, maybe 8 or 9 years old, because I think that is when they are really beginning to understand the game of baseball.    This is a great book to teach my eight and nine year old
This is a great book to teach my 8 and 9 year old, and I am not going to lie, I'm learning too. We started reading it aloud to each other about a week ago, and my kids are already going off by themselves and playing chess with one another, and they downloaded a game to play in the car.

My grandchildren wanted to play chess and I bought this book. It was a little chess tournament, but they learned so fast we had a kid. It was a blast, made for a fun day, and now they want to play more!

The puzzles are good, but the book is mostly a collection of short stories. It is White's turn to move, says the writer of the diagram. Hi, I'm 6 years old and have a son. I started teaching chess in my own way. He was not getting the complete picture of chess. This book helped me to teach chess for my son and after the completion of this book, he got the concepts very clearly,.. For new teachers, it's a great tool to learn.

At age 72, I decided to try to learn chess again. The teachers were wonderful and all but high-ranking competitors, but I found chess to be essentially a passion and a compulsion. As a librarian with a master's degree, I've learned that when approaching a new subject, it's very helpful to start at a very simple level to get the feel for the subject. When an event came up, I sent this along with the portable chess set to my 'brainy' young grandson.
