a happy accident checking this one out at the library
One of my all-time favorites now, that started with a happy accident checking this one out at the library. Just saw it on the display shelf and liked the cover, so we gave it a shot. Beautiful story and illustrations, I read it as I cried it. We are now huge fans of the author and give this particular book as gifts to friends. Good, right here is the good stuff.

   Wonderful Book
Sharing a wonderful story about sharing and caring. It was about community and giving back to the family. My first year secondary students wanted to read this book over and over again.

   Great Book
In any of the pages, no rips or tears were visible. As a teacher, anyone could easily include a lesson on cultures with the psanky eggs mentioned in the book. The story and the overall moral of the story is great to introduce children as well! The children make psanky eggs to save money for a hat that a special old grandma of theirs always wanted. Morals could also be introduced as a book by this book. There are also specific concept words. The old grandpa in the story is also a jewish man who happened to escape during World War II, so that civics can also be introduced. )

   I love this story
It is a sweet story of children who are wrongly accused of a bad deed, but use kindness to overcome wrong impressions. In return, they are rewarded for their kindness.

Moving multi-cultural story from the author's childhood
A beautiful children's story for 4-8 year olds, based on Polacco's experience of growing up.
