A good kids book to add to the series

A good book for children to add to the series. This is part of the series of the magic tree house, and encourages, young people to read. It has interesting illustrations, but not on every page. It has historical facts that are woven into the fantasy of the tail. The major books are connected loosely by including the different characters in each book.

Though the subject is a little heavy, history is approached for early chapter readers in a kid friendly way. I am now purchasing the 3rd set of this series for my granddaughter, who has just started reading. Perfect condition, slight discount and immediately shipped out.

Great book and educational!

The Civil War on Sunday is great, but so are all the other books in this series. These books are a great way to get your kids interested in history and see it as something not just bland and boring. My grandson started reading these when he was 7, and they weren 't over his head.

Telling a bit of history-hard stuff to tell younger ones, but in such a good way for them to hear and understand. And bringing the reader into the historical moment, bringing history alive. The reader is not only made part of the story, but there is also an element of exploration. This has a little bit of something for everyone - exploration, mystery, history and intrigue. I received this particular book because our church does a service each year to honor those who have fought and died during that time period. It is called the Peace Service. Our church is just a few yards from where the Battle of Dranesville occurred. Yes, I recommend these books for others to read - become part of history with each read.
