Book Overview

Kayla Miller, the New York Times best-selling author-illustrator of Click, Camp, and Act, returns with the next chapter of Olive's story, tackling new friendships, middle school conflicts, and the importance of empathy.

Olive, meet Natasha.

There's a new kid in town From the moment Natasha sets foot in class, it's clear she's one of the coolest kids in sixth grade. Everyone wants to be her friend, including Olive . . . but things might not be so easy.

Olive tries her best to befriend Nat, but it seems like the only thing they have in common is that they both want to hang out with Olive's friends Watching as Natasha gets closer with some of her best buds, Olive can't help but worry that they're starting to like Nat more than they like her . . . and who could blame them? Nat is just that cool . . . and Olive is, well, just Olive.

The New York Times best-selling author-illustrator Kayla Miller delivers a nuanced look at navigating middle school friendships and the importance of both empathy and respect.

   good
It was a total disaster, and I hated it. It was literally the worst book ever, you think that nat is nice but she's not and then at liv's Halloween she eggs liv's house and everyone gets mad at her, then everyone doesn't talk to her. After school liv goes to the skate park with her friends, then the book ends. nat flirts with the boy on student council. A passionate French novelist, Alfred Lord Tennyson, wrote "A book of untruths."

   Fun-Filled Middle Grade Realistic Book
The third book in the series, "The Last Ship," will be released in July. Newcomers are often surprised by the changes at middle school. The book is easy to read and the illustrations are good.

   Relatible
This book is a book all kids and adults could relate to, Mr. Dhaliwal said. This girl, who has no voice, is quote, and she builds character to say something to Natasha to stop the selfishness.

   Amazing
This was a great book about ship friends. This book is something your sun or dough could relate to. A nice cover, too. The story was nice and the characters were realistic, Morgenthau said.

   Awesome
My 8 year old daughter hated reading. A local librarian suggested these graphic novels and the woman now reads at least 200 pages in two days. She got a bunch of them for her birthday and she said, "I got so many books! It's the best birthday present ever! Holding them up, she said, "They're all over my chest." Very happy with the books, Simon said.
