Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

Mean Mrs. Green is forcing everyone to run in the school election, but everyone just wants to run for their lives YIKES Hubie is running for president against Doris. Hubie doesn't think he stands a chance against Doris and the free ice cream that's she's giving away to voters. Mix that in with the fact that he has to do lots of crazy stuff like shaking Coach Kong's paw and Mrs. Green's claw, and kissing a bunch of babies to stay in the presidential race. Hubie's chances look slim, but in the end he wins by being the candidate who stands for something---not just on top of something HA

The main slogan for the main character's campaign, Don 't be a booby, vote for Hubby, and a little potty humor scattered throughout this imaginative story, was a little disappointing, as I was hoping to use it as a fun teaching resource for educating children about the process of an election.

Great Step Up Series! Definitely worth adding to the collection
A great extension on the picture book versions of this series, these titles provide more text, some illustration and a deeper story than their predecessors. This is a great next step in following this series, and a welcome opportunity for those who are into independent reading. Feel confident that your children will not only love the series and stories, but also enjoy this next step in the collection.

   Great update
Definitely an update to the classic works of this artist, but it still holds the same integrity as the originals.

   Simple Chapter Book Fun
This book is another of my fun books in a series of good books! I was forced to get a new copy, because my original was used until its pages began to fall out. This is a transitional series for great readers who are nervous about chapter books. It is a brief read, but still in chapter form.

   Great for first/second grade
My seven year old discovered the books of the Black Lagoon and now he wants to read them all. They are fun chapter books with early drawings and doodles. They are also pretty funny.
