Best series of books for my baby (now toddler)
I purchased a few of the Toddler Tools books when my daughter was about a year old. She has the books clean-up time, Manners time, and Calm down time. They have been fantastic tools in teaching her to keep her play room clean, the importance of saying thank you, please, etc. And how she can calm when she is upset. Illustrations are very effective, as they have expressive colors and vibrant toddlers. Immediately my daughter took to these pictures. Even now, after having read these books for many months, she still brings these books to me to see them. I also plan to purchase the other books in this series. I strongly recommend '' these books for any toddler.
great pictures, and extremely easy for a toddler to ...
We purchased all the books by Elizabeth Verdick for our children to use. They are well written, great pictures and extremely easy to understand for a toddler.
A Good Tool to Help Toddlers Learn that Clean-up Can Be Fast and Fun
When teaching them to clean up, Clean Up Time is a good book to share with toddlers. The simple text is rhyming enough for toddlers to understand and the illustrations are beautifully done. The children are smiling on each page. At the end of the book are some tips for parents and caregivers for cleaning up a little one. I like the emphasis on making it fun and quick. Certainly not any baby I know! While toddlers may not want to sit and read this book at story time, Clean Up Time is a useful tool that can be used to encourage them to clean up. I would recommend it for children ages 2-4.
   Writing falls apart halfway thru
This book does a good job of breaking the steps of clean-up time for young children but the rhyme scheme and meter implode midway through the book. It would be perfect if the rest of the book was not contained in an established meter and a rhyme, but when it is, it drives me absolutely insane. I just keep the book around because my daughter likes it, especially the pictures. Back tips, nice stuff in the cut, but the lyrics needs some work.
   Get it!
My 2 year old now announces that it is clean time and puts her toys away when she notices that she has gotten too many toys out. In this series I will get more.
   Messy Toddler?
This book gives toddlers the right idea of how to keep themselves clean... toys, books, etc. Lessons for great teachers!
Absolutely wonderful to teach social skill to small children
Absolutely wonderful to teach social skills to small children. I have all the pieces in my first class and the children love these books. They like to keep them over and over again and to remind one another about what they learned in those books.
colorful and board books which are great when handled by a toddler
They are so much easier to relate to, great and board books, which are colorful when handled by a toddler. This book explains clean-up time as something fun instead of a punishment or a boring chore.
