   The Very Best of Mollica
The simplest and most straightforward book on color theory that I have read. It is very much like being part of a workshop by Patti Mollica. Get all your books and make a breakthrough in your painting.

   Clear and concise
This book is important for summarizing all the ideal art rules. It has great examples and illustrations that helped me to feel ready to go back. I can see why it would be hard to do so varied.

Good for the beginner, but not all you need to know
I am an artist my whole life and I am now teaching. It does not go into huge detail, but covers the basics and vocabulary, such as shades, saturation, value, tint, tone and shade. It also lists examples of painting styles, but only touches a little history and mentions a few eras. Too deep for nothing. It has a ton of examples and the print seems to me like a basic textbook print on thicker paper. I feel that a better printing technique would have made a difference in color appearances. It is a good and quick reference book, but should not be used as the only source of understanding color theory. I read it on our one-way trip with quite a bit of time to spare, so that it can easily be read in a single sitting. Very easy to understand and begin to grasp color theory.

A Little Book With A Ton of Great Info
This is a small and short book, but everything is useful in it. I bought it over a year ago and when I saw the size, I did not think it would be useful until I cracked it open a week ago. I have been struggling with color theory and this little book has made all the pieces that I tried to understand together. It's a great one for beginners like me and is worth more than what you pay and it will help you figure it all out.

   Very good.
This is a great concise guide to color theory for beginners like me. I don 't want a degree in color theory, I just want a better understanding of it, so I can set color palettes for painting and photography. It is definitely a book where you get what you give. You should really play all the examples in the book, play around and experiment with different colors to create something different, but just as good as what is presented in the book. Creating the books'examples gave me reference that I was doing it right, then I went out and did my own experiments, which helped me a lot. It also helps that color is exactly rocket science.

   Poorly written
Basically a small book, not much information and actual examples of classical painting, nor how color theory was used in different contexts, etc.

   Primary, et al
Pros is written and illustrated very well. Con : If the font was smaller, you would need a magnifying glass to read. There has to be an alternative to the fear of losing trees and the cost of paper... especially for those subjects that won 't translate to digital! I am confident that there is some genius out there to offer a solution.
