Charles Forbin has dedicated the last ten years of his life to the construction of his own supercomputer, Colossus, rejecting romantic and social endeavors in order to create the United States' very first Artificially Intelligent defense system. Colossus is a supercomputer capable of in-taking and analyzing data rapidly, allowing it to make real time decisions about the nation's defense. But Colossus soon exceeds even Forbin's calculated expectations, learning to think independently of the Colossus Programming Office, processing data over one hundred times faster than Forbin and his team had originally anticipated. The President hands off full control of the nation's missiles and other defense protocols to Colossus and makes the announcement to the world that he has ensured peace. However, the USR quickly announces that it too has a supercomputer, Guardian, with capabilities similar to that of Colossus. Forbin is concerned when Colossus asks-asks-to communicate with Guardian. The computer he built shouldn't be able to ask at all . . .

Tech-savvy fiction that deals with real-world evil without glamorizing it.
A nice pace and a very encouraging and engaging read. The educational aspects of cyber security were detailed. The good guys are mostly real, except for Pietro. He's almost a superhero.

   Excellent read
The book was enjoyable and I could not stop reading. I wasn't sure how the characters could be connected, but it all came together nicely. I enjoyed the suspense and connection to our current world culture. I liked the emphasis on God's love for us and the fact that he continues to seek us until we hear him. The sequel is waiting for me.

Captured my attention immediately and didn't let go ... a story with great meaning.
I recommend this book to all of my readers. The writer weaves a story with great meaning and purpose. Each character was important in the plot reveal. The book presents a surprising and unexpected end to the plot. Near the end of the story, my choice of a favorite character changed a lot. I liked this writing so much. I'm sure that any reader will enjoy it as well. Thanks to the author, Craig Thompson, for a wonderful volume.

   Synchronicity
When I began this wonderful book by Craig Thompson, I was not sure what to expect, but by the mid- way point, it earned both it's name and began to align with the problems we are seeing today. The complexity and suspense are worth reading. Have a great time!

   CRIME & MURDER MYSTERY
Craig Thompson cut from the same bolt of fabric as RISING SUN and THE SOURCE his highly technical work COLOSSUS. Thompson has a background in global communications, so be prepared to be drawn in. It is an honest blend of history and corruption. Thompson painstakingly sets the stage for an exciting ride into the burgeoning science of digital criminology and jurisprudence research where the hunter can easily become the prey. COLOSSUS is the kind of read that this reviewer tends to be slower with a higher comprehension. COLOSSUS challenges not only a world in need of redemption, but forcefully requires its readers to consider, as one character in the book puts it, " what can I do to be a part of this?" Dave was from Tennessee.
