Renowned visionary and theorist bell hooks began her exploration of the meaning of love in American culture with the critically acclaimed All About Love: New Visions. She continued her national dialogue with the bestselling Salvation: Black People and Love. Now hooks culminates her triumphant trilogy of love with Communion: The Female Search for Love.
Intimate, revealing, provocative, Communion challenges every female to courageously claim the search for love as the heroic journey we must all choose to be truly free. In her trademark commanding and lucid language, hooks explores the ways ideas about women and love were changed by feminist movement, by women's full participation in the workforce, and by the culture of self-help.
Communion is the heart-to-heart talk every woman -- mother, daughter, friend, and lover -- needs to have.
It takes about 4 Hours and 41 minutes on average for a reader to read Communion: The Female Search for Love. This is based on the average reading speed of 250 Words per minute.
Communion: The Female Search for Love is 272 pages long.
A must read for women.

A Love Supreme

This book made us question and think about the beliefs I held about love and feminism. Through self-inquiry and examination I arrived at the place I started - love heals all and love prevails. Self-love is the first step in finding love.

A MUST READ FOR EVERY WOMAN. And MEN should read it too
Derived From Web , Jan 15, 2022
I could highlight this book throughout! I learned about bell hooks just in the last years and since her passing I'm reading books to learn more about her. This book is a must read for every woman, as we find our way to truly come into ourselves, to search for love in the patriarchal systems we have to weave our way through.

A very good read! Enlightening and a critical - thinking approach to how and what our society deems as love, a good matriarch and roles women play in our own tragedy. This book is fairly easy to read and is a gentle eye opener. Bell Hooks, thank you.

A must read for feminists (across all the gender specter)
Derived From Web , Jan 27, 2017
This was an incredible book to read and I would recommend it to everyone, men and women alike. For me it felt like an enlightment, a happy way to understand that I am not weird, but women are evolving and developing in different ways tan many years ago and so that same life development can not be expected. That women have come to expect and desire more through self-development, and unfortunately not many men are willing to deal with it. But also to realice that some are, and that these men are worth looking for, but that even if you can not find a man. Through self-development and friendships, life is still great.
