Book Overview

NOTE: The name of the exam has changed from IT Fundamentals to IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+). However, the FC0-U61 exam objectives are exactly the same. After the book was printed with IT Fundamentals in the title, CompTIA changed the name to IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+). We have corrected the title to IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+) in subsequent book printings, but earlier printings that were sold may still show IT Fundamentals in the title. Please rest assured that the book content is 100% the same.

   Passed ITF+ But BEWARE
E-Book readers can now enjoy the convenience of reading the complete works of PROS Easy to read by hand. Great content, great end-of-chapter self-tests, said Dr. Eric Thompkins, director of the University of California Davis's Center for Teaching and Learning. If you have ever sat through the CompTIA+ test, you know that you can actually pass it if you read the card-study material. Practical real world exercises that take up to a whopping 300 hours and don't apply to the actual CompTIA+ cert. The only thing I was able to access was the flashcards, practice tests, or the glossary of terms. Passed CompTIA+ it so did its job. I'm not exactly a book worm, but I will very much hesitate to buy anything from the publisher or the author. Still, I'm not saying I'm going to write anything by them off in the future. I'm just going to be very careful, Mr. Dhaliwal said.
   Highly recommend
I just took the test today and got an 841900, which was the most difficult test I've ever taken. It's just that you don't rely on it. I also purchased the Mike Meyers book, "The Last Days of the Jedi Order." It was worth the $.20 to get the book, plus a few practice tests, he said. I went through all of the online resources that came with the book, and found the answers. The Online Quizzes were duplicates of the ones printed in the book, but they were still helpful. I wrote all of the flash cards out of the memory because I learn well writing things down. Took a few hours spread over about a week, but really helped, he said.
A good book from a good author
I've used his books in several of my classes, and they're quite good. His writing is clear and interesting, the chapter structure is well-written and the chapter questions are excellent. The online lab is one of the better environments around, so that's a bonus, though access will only last for a year. In fact, I would have liked to see all Docter's books shrink a little bit. But if you're studying on your own, that may be a plus, not a minus. Overall, this book is great preparation for the exam.
   Very good book and reference
IT Fundamentals by Tim Heinwall is a must-have for anyone looking to improve their knowledge of Unix. The content of this program is engaging, educational, and informative. I particularly like the fact that it is written in a serious tone throughout, whereas the others are littered with far too many jocular sentences and paragraphs. I bought it to the point where it was informed, not made to laugh. For me, the most important thing is to have deep and extensive coverage of all the relevant topics. Only using this book, I passed the test comfortably. Furthermore, it was declared that IPv6 was declared outside the scope of the book. I firmly disagree, if this were 2016 or earlier, yes, but not at this point in time -- it's just not relevant. Yes, I would buy it again and I would recommend it to a friend for the exam.
Passed the exam and this book helped...
This book was one of many to help me pass the CompTIA exams, combined with my years of experience, said Ms. Jennette Tamayo, a New Jersey resident. To take advantage of this special offer, make sure you book your exam in advance.
Now I can add IT FUNDAMENTALS+ CERTIFIED to my resume!
The book will give you everything you need to know to pass the exam. I did have prior experience, but this was a great refresher in few things that I forgot, such as programming and database fundamentals. But I also learned some things I never took a class on, like Wi-Fi standards and Apple products. Before taking the A+C exam, I recommend that you do not take the test. Pauley, Jr., The New Republic's assistant managing editor, said: "This book is a winner. Thanks for the donation.
Good for beginners not bad for veterans either.
I was 17 years old and I wanted to see what had changed. This book gives enough detail for a beginner to understand what they need to know but doesn't overwhelm them. I'm still trying to decide whether I had forgotten some of the familiar details or just not paying as much attention in my classes. I would recommend it to all veterans.
