I follow the author Vikki Tobak on social media as well as Contact High on social media to see the star-filled gallery shows around the world where these same music artists attend. I bought them as gifts for friends of this era, as well as for children who want to learn more about culture.

I received this book yesterday. The whole day I spent reading through the whole thing, studying every picture enamored. This book is priced modestly for its value as it has a lot of valuable content. I learned things I never knew. Interviews with photographers were in-depth and intriguing. Even if you aren 't all that interested in the stories, the photos speak for themselves and its great to flip through the pages and soak up culture and how it has changed over the years. Highly recommended to anyone who grew up with or appreciates hip hop culture, and even to those who might be interested in studying photography.

I read the New York Times and New Yorker reviews of Contact High and decided that I needed it. Wow, what a difference! What a book is. Amazing stories of the origins of hiphop music, told through some of the iconic visual imagery. This book is beautiful to look at, engaging to read and a must-have for any music fan!
