Book Overview

The #1 New York Times bestselling series

Discover the truth of Norta's bloody past in this paperback bind-up of two novella-length prequels to #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Aveyard's Red Queen series.

Queen Song: Queen Coriane, first wife of King Tiberias, keeps a secret diary--how else can she ensure that no one at the palace will use her thoughts against her? Coriane recounts her heady courtship with the crown prince, the birth of a new prince, Cal, and the potentially deadly challenges that lay ahead for her in royal life.

Steel Scars: Captain Farley exchanges coded transmissions with the resistance as she travels the land recruiting black market traders, smugglers, and extremists for her first attempt at an attack on the capital. She was raised to be strong, but planting the seeds of rebellion in Norta is a tougher job than expected--until she stumbles upon a connection that may prove to be the key to the entire operation: Mare Barrow.

This paperback bind-up also includes an excerpt of the second book in the Red Queen series, Glass Sword.

Plus don't miss Realm Breaker Irresistibly action-packed and full of lethal surprises, this stunning fantasy series from Victoria Aveyard, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Red Queen series, begins where hope is lost and asks: When the heroes have fallen, who will take up the sword?

   Great, but short
The Queen Song Book was good and in a way, Coriane reminded me of a lot of Mare. The story goes really fast and is only 54 pages and I thought it would be much longer, but it was well-written and I loved getting to know Baby Cal. I've, however, felt that she should have written these stories first and just the 3rd book in the Red Queen series. I feel that, though, story was good, she should have finished the series first, like literally every other author in the world. I haven 't read steel scars, and don 't plan.
Highly recommended for readers of all ages
The characters are professionally developed and the plot pulled me completely in. I can 't wait for the Red Queen film to come out, not to mention the next book!
Two stories which were sadly disappointing
Quick and easy to read. I am disappointed in the last half of the book, it is a preview for a book that has already been released and I have read. I would have bought it if I understood how little was in this book. It would have been awesome if I purchased it before the release of the books.
Good to complete your Red Queen collection . . . Not so good of a read
Quebec Song '' was okay. We learn about Cal's mother and how she went from a poor nobless to the Queen, but the books themselves are not that great, but I read that after I bought the paperback, so it is kind of there to add space. That is nice, it just doesn 't have much purpose other than it is an obsolete promotion.
   Good read!
I personally love the red book, the first queens ; it was really hard for me to put it down. The first crown was a pretty good read, but it was as good as the cruel book. However, I believe that this is good for all Red Queen fans to read if you are interested in some background stories of a few characters. The red crown is more of a prequel to the cruel queens.
Lives up to expectations. Two short stories: one ...
Two short stories : One takes place years in the past and the other shortly before the first book.
   Great series.
I like this book series, but I liked only one of the short stories in this book. The soldier's perspective was not my favorite.
