Daily Handwriting Practice, Traditional Manuscript is more than just a handwriting book; it is a learning tool that helps developing young minds practice basic skills in an interesting and unique way. For example, as students learn to clearly write, The pizza is divided into fourths, they are reinforcing their understanding of fractions and ordinal numbers. Students write letters, words, and sentences about a variety of content-area topics appropriate for the primary classroom. Monday through Thursday, the weekly subjects for writing exercises include nutrition, our solar system, pets, and vehicles. On Friday, a full-page exercise draws the topic to a close by reviewing what was learned earlier that week. This book is a useful and effective teaching tool because each letter is introduced and practiced before students are asked to use it. Practice includes the following important vocabulary words: - color words - number words - days of the week and months - position words - sports - family members Curriculum topics addressed include: - nutrition - the solar system - the layers of the Earth - recycling - fractions - the continents - geometric shapes - money - energy Skills reinforced that help keep handwriting legible include: - correct letter formation - letter placement - spacing between letters - spacing between words

Excellent tool for kids who hate to write!
Derived From Web , Jun 3, 2022
I found this book to be an excellent tool for my first son to practice his handwriting. He absolutely hates writing and has a bad habit of writing letters in the lazy way. We use this book to work on letters one at a time and have found the daily layouts particularly useful for this. Each Friday part has an extra long part to complete, which is a good review for the previous letters. After a few weeks, he is more conscious of forming his letters and his writing is more legible.

I bought it towards the end of the summer, but will start adding books like this throughout the summer. Pages can easily be ripped from the book and placed on dry - erase sleeves to reuse if you have miltiple children.

Not enough space for writing the sentences..only one line
Derived From Web , Mar 12, 2020
It is a beautiful book, but there is not enough space to write the sentence that comes at the bottom of each page. They give you only one line, so the words really have to be quite close to get them all in. Part of good handwriting is learning the proper spacing. My 6 yr old grandson will have a hard time getting it all written on a single line. I keep it and give him a manuscript paper for writing the sentences. It is good to have other than that. But I wish I had chosen something else.

... additional practice for my 2nd grader to use her best handwriting all the time
Derived From Web , Feb 28, 2018
I use this as an additional practice for my 2nd grader to use her best handwriting all the time. She doesn 't enjoy the times I ask her to re-create a page and complete it again, but it is great practice for her and helps her to improve her penmanship.
