Dear Mr. Henshaw,
I wish somebody would stop stealing the good stuff out of my lunchbag. I guess I wish a lot of other things, too. I wish someday Dad and Bandit would pull up in front in the rig . Dad would yell out of the cab, Come on, Leigh. Hop in and I'll give you a lift to school.

My son does not read unless he has to, and this was a requirement for the school. He could not put it down.

I appreciate it.

I read through it, though, like all the classic books I crawled through. But still I enjoyed reading Leigh Bott's letters to Mr. Henshaw and to Mr. Henshaw in the pretend case.

Clearly it has been done again... but changed slightly. Clearly, push aside your normal view of Clearly and accept her male protagonist. I Loved This Book, I read it in my college children in the amateur class and I love it! '' Broken Heart and Heart Warming!

For me, this book was just OK, maybe because it is one of the few books I didn 't grow up reading ; it did not resonate with me.

A poignant MG story in Diary form
Derived From Web , May 21, 2022
A great middle school story by Beverly Cleary in Dear Diary Form. A young boy, Leigh Botts, starts a correspondence with his favorite author, Boyd Henshaw, in the second grade. He is now in the sixth grade, a new kid in a new school because his parents divorced. Leigh's letters to the author Boyd Henshaw reveal the poignant details of his life. It shows how his relationship with his mother matures as he grows up. Leigh sees more clearly why his parents'marriage did not work out and he comes to terms with the losses he experienced in his life. Although aimed at boys, it is sensitively enough to draw girl readers, too.
