   Both are good, but if I had to pick one
I bought both the DeLorme and the Benchmark Atlas in preparation for a moose hunt. He's looking for access points, trails and roads. It has topo lines and it looks like the image is larger, making it seem more realistic. One inch on the Delorme map gets you about 3 miles, compared with 4 miles on the Benchmark. If you are not happy with the second choice, just my preference would be to have all three. If there was a significant price difference, go with that.

   exactly what I need
We are planning a trip to Colorado that will include getting into so-called back areas, off the beaten track, in order to do some hiking, camping, birding, and/or running through public lands, and needed an atlas that is detailed enough to show county and town roads, as well as paved and unpaved roads through public lands. The Delorme Atlas and Gazetteer accurately provides that detail, allowing you to get into and out of out-of-the-way places. We have used these atlases in other states, and although it is possible that the maps may contain dated, inaccurate information on some back roads, we have not lost a thing! This is a great tool for determining how to get places when standard road atlases do not provide the level of detail that is needed. The product was delivered in a timely manner and was well packaged, Mr. Dhaliwal said. Thanks for the Amazon support.

   Detailed and accurate
I recommend this book to anyone who reads it. Aside from being a very deep mapatlas, it gives a lot of extra information on areas such as bodies of water, fishing, hunting and even ice ages. Even gives some information about some of the places to visit. Anyone that wants a detailed CO map or good hikingbikingoutdoorguide to the state? It's a book, but it's too big to carry around.

   I love the new color coding
Overall, I'm pleased with the book. The updated color coding of National Park land is very helpful for hiking and off-road recreational riding, Tunick said.

   Must Have
The second book in the series, "The World's Greatest Maps," is also excellent. His wife said he's a great detailer. Even with time, it can be hard to see continuity when moving from one page to another.

Confusion reigned supreme as the two masters of the game tried to follow each other's orders. I HIGHLY recommend the Benchmark!- Colorado Road and Recreation for all your hiking and biking needs. Benchmark Colorado Road and Recreation District maps.

I've fallen in love with the DeLorme Atlases and Gazetteers. I have used them extensively and have had no problems with them, Hollingworth said. This is by far the best book I have ever read.

Consistent state policy. Web site issues? The printer error was a result of a software error, Hubach said. Will buy other DeLorme maps as we travel. Buy them wherever we go as a compliment to GPS and Nav systems. It's nice to have context, Garton said.

   The definitive, compact standard in state topo map collections
At times, I've collected entire jeep loads of U.S. Topo Maps to cover lesser roads and trails of an area. Note the addition: "Each DeLorme publication has become more accurate and detailed over decades." Thanks for the donation.
