A good start for backroads exploration
If you like to travel the backroads, a DeLorme Gazetteer offers a convenient combination of scale and convenience. If you're looking for guides to the Grand Canyon, you've come to the right place. They are not substitute for US Geological Survey topographic maps that cover a much smaller area. Scale is tricky, too big and the results are freeway-only cartoons, too small and you lose the big picture over pages of BLM officially designated goat paths.

Packaging left a lot to be desired....
The atlas, luckily, was only slightly damaged in transit, despite one whole end of the box being crushed, one of the bottom flaps not taped and fully open, and the atlas hanging halfway out of the box when we picked it up at the post office. It's a double-sided spiral bound book, with the back cover dog-eared. It's just that I didn't know how it could have been done. The bubble wrap that was placed over the top of the atlas after it was put in the box didn't do anything to prevent it from falling out of the packaging when the bottom flap popped open. It's about time your packaging people took a little more pride in their work. All the pages are intact, in sequence, securely attached and readable, he said. The atlas received a 5 star rating, but the packaging was a total disaster.

   Missing pages!!!
The book is missing pages 17-24 and 73-80. It's just that one of the missing sections is for the area I specifically bought it for.

   Missing and duplicate pages
We love Delorme maps, but wouldn't suggest buying the Montana Gazateer here. Twice I had to return it for missing pages from the book. We recommend that you read the entire book.

   Eco friendly Siri alternative
An excellent atlas of off-road hunting or birding. Clearly marked roads and bridges are also part of the deal. It's a must have for the outdoors when there is no cell service.

I love it, it's large so I can see where ...
It's great to see public land, especially when you have a lot of people. Partner these up with your favorite hunting or fishing guides and you can plan a truly memorable trip.
