   Diary of a Wimpy Kid
I bought this for my 8 and 10 year old boys at a garage sale. They both love reading (and re-reading) this book. I have purchased a bunch of the other books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series here at Second Sale. They love all of them and I'll be buying more here soon.

Not My Favorite but my Kid LOVES Them!
My son has read them all, but he's not a big reader. I'm willing to forgo the potty humor and a bit of language in these books because my son is READING. 0 2622010 2622070 This kid is so good at math, I think, because he has such a good vocabulary." McCartney has said he'll probably never work with them again because he loves them so much.

Wonderful book for a child who does not like to read
When I gave him this book, he seemed disinterested as usual, but when I told him to read it during his scheduled reading time, he could not put it down. He was a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, and he loved the book. He has since read the entire book, which he did once. Even though he was not in class, he took it to school and read it during his scheduled reading time. The pictures helped a lot, but more importantly, it was the story that grabbed his attention, Crosby said. It's great for kids who don't like to read.

My second grader loves this series.
I am so grateful for this series of books because it caters to boys at an early age, Raymond said. If they enjoy reading for fun, then we can increase the changes they will be lifelong readers.

My son's best buddy loves to read
My son's best buddy loves to read, but I've struggled trying to light a fire in my own son. When I asked him what books he'd like to read, he said this one. We're reading James Patterson's "The Hunger Games" series right now, but my son is excited to get started on this one. It's just that the fire was put out. Yes, I think we're going to have a good time. It's great to be back home, said Blair.

Not my first choice, but my kids LOVE it!
When my daughter begged me to buy the book, I must admit that I was skeptical. Nancy Drew and Little House on the Prairie were my favorites. Yes, I have had little success getting her to read those books, or any other books for that matter. I bought it because I found it on Amazon. com. She read it in two nights, loved it, and asked for the sequel. She also said that some of the content is pretty rude, and I was told I would not be repeating it, but she thought the story was great. So great, that she passed it on to her 7 year old sister who also proceeded to read the entire book in just three days! Even though I'm not a huge fan of Raymond's work, I have to give him credit for drawing kids in and encouraging them to read. Amazon has also said that readers can pre-order the remaining three books, "The Last of the Series" and "The Innocents", through the Amazon Web site.

A Review from the Tattooed Preacher
As a 6 year old, my son began reading Wimpy Kid books. It would be great to have him read before bed, and I would hear him laughing hysterically in his room. At 7, he has read all of them and often will pick them up and read them again. It's silly, but the appeal to his age demographic was actually amazing to me. 0 2622010 2622070 I'm not a big fan of the first trailer, but the appeal to his age demographic was actually amazing to me. He didn't have to make him read, Ms. Rule told the judge. He loved them all, he told the judge. The entire series is recommended to any parent of a child who is learning and becoming comfortable with reading comprehension.

Is everyone drinking the cool-aid? Not one positive message in this entire series...
I have never seen a book series so disrespectful and cynical. I had previewed the entire series before handing it off to my child. What positive messages can be gleaned from this series of skits? There is not a word about anyone, including his family, in the series, and I have read three of the books to see if it changes. What about teaching children to be self-sufficient? Rather, he urged his readers to "avoid complacency" and to "avoid negative, baseless and superficial rumination." The answer to low-esteem is not to humor or belittle others, Blair said.

A Review from the Tattooed Preacher
My 6 year old son was learning to read when he began reading the books. I would allow him to read before bed and he would laugh so much I could not sleep. He is 7 years old and has read all of them. The appeal to his age demographic was amazing. I did not have to make him read. He loved them all. I would recommend the entire series to any parent of a child who is learning how to read.

Is everyone drinking the cool-aid? Not one positive message in this entire series...
This book series is very negative and disrespectful. I gave the series to my child. Everyone is drinking the cool-aid. What positive messages can be gleaned from this series? I have read 3 of the books to see if the word about his family changes. Teaching children empowerment is something that could be done. Instead of encouraging negative, baseless and superficial thinking. The answer to low-esteem is not to be mean.
