Book Overview

When a murder victim is discovered in a Pennsylvania field, a detective and archaeologist must team up to keep a mysterious killer from carrying out a horrifying plan to fill empty graves.
The first victim is found in a snow-covered Philadelphia field. Detective Vito Ciccotelli enlists the aid of archaeologist Sophie Johannsen to determine exactly what lies beneath the frozen ground. Despite years of unearthing things long buried, nothing can prepare Sophie for the matrix of graves dug with chilling precision. The victims buried there haunt her. But the empty graves terrify her-the killer isn't done yet.

He is cold and calculating, the master of a twisted game. Even with Vito and Sophie hot on his trail, he will not stop. One more empty grave must be filled, and one last scream must be heard-the scream of an archaeologist who is too close for comfort and too near to resist . . .

   Not my favorite author!
There are too many characters in Karen Rose's stories. I like to keep up with the characters. Many of the characters are only mentioned once and have nothing to do with the developing story and I end up with a list with many names that don't matter. Although it doesn't go on and on, the sex part is more explicit than I would like to read.
Vito and Sophie struggle to find clues that will catch a horrible killer but do not realize that Sophie
A little romance is thrown in with Karen Rose's murder mysteries. The archaeologist who is helping police with history is also one of the next victims of a horrible killer, even though they struggle to find clues that will catch a horrible killer. As Vito and his partner lead the team to catch the murderer, they begin to think about a future together. After I read Karen Rose's most recent book, I read an older one. There is still a storyline that is interesting to watch. She does a good job with the way the story is told. When the killer's identity was finally revealed, I was surprised how close he was to his victim. Keep buying her books.
   Beginning of the series.
I didn't want to set this book down because I loved it so much. It did not bother me that other characters were being set up for their stories. It made me wonder how she would continue to build and beat this wonderful first book.
The boom was awesome. When the suspense is so good, the romance is not important. This book is for lovers of suspense.
   GREAT Read!!!

   Great Book! - Favorite Author
The 3 rd book in the series did not fail to impress. Karen Rose is the greatest. Minor characters from book 2 are the primary characters in book 3 Absolutely Great. You don't want to stop reading because there's so much going on.
Love every story by this author never a bad book
She doesn't write a bad story. Everyone is cheering for the hero and surprise endings in her books.
