Book Overview

Following in the footsteps of the groundbreaking Alphablock and Countablock, Dinoblock features thick pages cut into the shapes of dinosaurs Readers will be introduced to more than 20 different kinds of dinos via die-cuts of their unique silhouettes and the illuminating comparisons to familiar things from a young child's world. I stretch high like the ladder on a fire truck. I am a Brachiosaurus. As children touch the pages, they have a chance to guess the dinosaur and appreciate the uniqueness of its silhouette. A final gatefold delivers a roundup of all the dinos included. This hands-on approach, delivered in colorful pages by hip British design team Peskimo, makes for an immersive, age-appropriate introduction to a favorite topic of childhood.

   Dinosaur Book with Pronunciation Guides!
It was my 3 year old niece and her 2 year old nephew that wanted it. I wanted to find them a book because they had taken an interest in dinosaurs, Tunick said. Besides that, the book is also fold-out, making it easy to carry around. My nephew liked it a lot, said Jennette Tamayo, a spokeswoman for Microsoft. He seemed to like the tactile aspect of the book, which is probably why he was drawn to it in the first place. If you're looking for a sturdy dinosaur book that's interactive and parent-friendly, I'd highly recommend this one.

   Great block book!
It's great to have a tool that helps people pronounce the dinosaur names. It will help with reading and phonics once he's old enough, I got it used so there was a slight tear on the front cover and some writing inside, as well as some sticky pages. It's fine since I got it delivered overseas for a really good price, Mr. Dhaliwal said.

   My 2year old’s favorite book
It's the only book I've ever read that made me want to kill spiders. Pictures of the dinosaurs are really cute. It really gets my daughter's brain thinking by comparing dinos to animals of today, Mrs. Dhaliwal said. It also teaches you how to properly pronounce the dinosaur names. It shows the skeletons of all the dinos in a museum. I can't wait to take my daughter to a natural history museum! A great book.

   Dinosaurious Fun
I have learned a lot about this book. The fold out pages are really engaging and colorful,' said Axel Schweer, executive vice president of Scholastic. My 10 month old really enjoys when I read this to her and my wife LOVES me trying to correctly pronounce the names. I'm delighted the boys are having a great time doing it, Tunick said. Buy more!, Mr. Caramore told the judge.

   Excellently constructed book
We love this series of books for many reasons, including excellent illustrations, quality construction, great stories, and keep my son's interest over the long run, he goes back to these books repeatedly. It's great to hear that Graham is still working, said one writer.

Must have for a young dinosaur fan
Our 2 1/2 year old grandson has a fascination with dinosaurs. In other books, he will say what type of dinosaur it is. We're huge fans of Gillian Flynn's book, The Fall.

   my daughter LOVES this book
my 3 year old absolutely loves this book and so do my wife and i. not only are the pictures great and the selection of vast dinosaurs but the book includes the phonetic pronunciation of each dinosaur as well which makes it both fun and very educational for both parent and child.

Great durable strong book for kids, weak plot
They plot and storyline was pretty weak, and my 3 year old son doesn't care. He loves looking at the dinosaur pictures, intermingled with the more recent images of the human form. The tactile feel of the pages is also nice.

   Love them!
I recommend that you read them to your son." We have all but the Star Wars and Marvel movies. It's great to be back home, said Blair. The board isn't super thick so I imagine as he gets older some fold out parts might be torn but the style of the book is adorable!

Did not connect with my toddler
My son loves dinosaur train and the number and alpha block books, so I picked up the dino block. The book is very good, said Dr. Goin. Yes, it has a lot of dinos and yes, it shows how to pronounce their names. However, Microsoft's Web site didn't seem to have all the answers. I thought it was a great idea to compare dinos to everyday objects and animals, but those sorts of words and story lines just don't connect to toddlers.
