Lessons from Epictetus
Derived From Web , Dec 29, 2021
This is one of Stoicism's essential books. Of the three Stoic philosophers I was introduced to, Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus, Epictetus is the one who speaks most clearly to me. He speaks to me and makes sense to me. His words make you think and go to the gist of the principle or idea of the principle. Today, 2000 years after he said them, I can apply his lessons to my life and the world I live in. When my thoughts are muddled and my thinking is unclear and irrational, his words show me where to go for clarity and rational thinking. This is one of my go-to books that I will now keep with me and in the future.

Customer run around
Derived From Web , Mar 2, 2021
The book was excited to read, but the pages were stuck together at the bottom. Without tearing, you could not pull apart. I contacted the seller about returning sent pics, kept telling me that they could not see the pics, like they gave me the run around. All I wanted to return is to get new and return. After a few times of running around I just quit. Sending back through Amazon.

Thank you PewDiePie
Derived From Web , Jan 2, 2021
Bought this book after PewDiePie recommended it for the first book club in 2021. Looking forward to reading it, learning about philosophy and hearing what he has to say about it at the end of the month. His explanations of philosophical concepts are very interesting and easy to understand, and have made me very interested in learning more about the subject, Hello fellow 19-year-olds!! AOOUUHH! Thankful for this book
Derived From Web , Dec 7, 2018
Amazingly Amazing. I'm a new Stoic practicing. The topics presented in this book are surprisingly relevant to modern life and me personally. The central goal involves the freedom of the mind from external influences, resulting in inner tranquility, awareness and control. I also did not know about it before purchasing, but this book contains the full enchridion in the back.

Humanity haven't changed much, and the lessons ought to be learned ~1900 years ago are still important for us
Derived From Web , Dec 8, 2017
A great book to read is just a book to read. After Marcus Aurelius and Seneca, I had to give Epictetus the due respect and read his work as well. This translation is very easy to read book include a few extras of Ancient Roman writings and a wonderful intro and summary of epictetus life includes Stoicism and Epictetus. Recommending this book to whomever wants to improve himself as a human being.

Another Path to Mindfulness
Derived From Web , Jul 28, 2017
My mentor, Lee Thayer, spoke carefully about choosing your parents. While one can not choose their biological parents, they can choose those influencing their lives. One of these parents is Epictetus. His thoughts and ideas are today as relevant as they were 1800 years ago, when they were shared with Buddha and the Stoics, as well as with Epictetus and his followers.
