Engaged Six Year Old

I got this on the same day as I was writing my review and I already know it's 5 stars. A six year old boy is laughing uncontrollably and reading loud in his room. It's light on reading, but it contains some words that he hasn't covered in school. The right balance of pictures, words, and silly six year old jokes will keep the kid engaged. Highly recommended.

These books make my son happy. He's always enjoyed being read to, but since starting this series and The Bad Guys series his independent reading has soared. I hear him laughing at himself every night. My husband reads part to him every night, but then he reads them over and over again. I was amazed when he read part of it out loud to me. He loves them because they're silly. I love them because he happily reads and reads.

Big Hit with our 1st Grader

Our first graders loves reading these books. She decided to open it recently after getting one for Christmas. She couldn't put it down. She's been reading ever since I ordered this box set. It's been a great way for her to keep reading while we're out of school. She has been inspired to write her own comics. I love the idea of getting kids to read graphic novels. They're great for learning new things. We expect our kids to get out of reading and hit all the major learning targets, and they cover all the major things. I think this is a great start for her age, and there's no downside.
