   Great cook book
I love this book — lots of great recipes —makes preparing diabetic meals a breeze, says Sandra.

   Don't do it if you have type 2 diabetes
I strictly followed the diet in this book and a couple others like it for a few months. At the end of it, my blood work for the visit with my endocrinologist was so bad, she said. The numbers kept going up. A1C1 was down to 6.7 from 7.3 but triglycerides and cholesterol increased to 191 and 199, respectively. The Freestyle has helped me control my blood sugar levels, but I still find myself in a pinch at every meal over 200 mg. I have since changed to keto diet and my sugar levels are close to 120 max after meals and I am off my metformin, she said. Hopefully I can start eating carbs again after I get to my goal weight because my triglycerides should be lower, Ryan said. This is a dangerous diet for those with type 2 diabetes. I really wanted it to work because I love carbs.

   reversed my prediabetes and high blood pressure issues
If you want to learn how to change your life and stop worrying about your health, this is a good read. I hate medications and I know I can choose live and eat healthy and do things cheaper! This is educational and you can inform your body of possible reasons why our body reacts the way it does. It tested my blood sugar level and it registered 256. So not a shocker that I have a high blood sugar count but at 40, too early for me to be chained to bottles of different pills. I followed this book with some modifications, and changed my count within one month. im back to normal, he said. Please try again, better than later.

   Easy recipes, good food.
After a week, my energy level was better. I don't have diabetes, but an autoimmune disease, and have read that this type of diet will help me as well.

   This lifestyle is truly the greatest for diabetics
She has been eating plant-based for about two months now, but this book has also helped with her sugars. Her fasting blood sugar level has improved. This lifestyle has truly changed the way people think about diabetes. Recommend!

Easy to make, creative and full of flavor. I'm not a diabetic, but I purchased this book for the healthful recipes and so far every recipe I have made has been a slam dunk. His wife, Dreena, is a genius in the kitchen.

   A Great Cookbook!
Just got the book the other day and have already made 4! Easy to make and delicious, these are just some of the recipes. The miso rice cakes were to die for with the mango hemp sauce over arugula, and my husband, who is not a whole food plant based enthusiast, said they were a 10. It's just that beautiful photography boosts your appetite for more. Thanks so much to Dreena and Dr. Barnard for this amazing addition to my kitchen library, which I know will be stained and worn out soon!

   Makes him very happy and makes me happy too
Thanks for the support. I bought this for a friend of my husband who took my advice and has changed his eating habits. He is no longer on insulin, has lost weight, and is no longer on pain pills. He makes me happy, he said. The advice I gave him was actually from the two books I gave him -- one by Dr. Bernard McDougall and the other by Dr. Sandra Day O'Neill.
