This special edition of the #1 New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire series soars back in time to give readers a glimpse of Pyrrhia through new eyes.
In the shadow of wings . . . humans fight for survival. Ivy doesn't trust the Dragonslayer. He may be her father and the beloved ruler of Valor, but she knows he's hiding more than the treasure from the sand dragon he killed two decades ago. Leaf doesn't trust dragons. They're the reason his favorite sister, Wren, is dead, and now he'll do whatever it takes to slay even one. Wren doesn't trust anyone. She swore off humans after her village tried to sacrifice her to the dragons. She only has one friend, a small, wonderful mountain dragon named Sky, and they don't need anyone else. In a world of dragons, the humans who scramble around underfoot are easy to overlook. But Ivy, Leaf, and Wren will each cross paths with dragons in ways that could shape the destiny of both species. A good book but not my favorite. Sky is adorable, and she had the best Pov with him. I'd like to know what the future holds for the series.

Hard to follow

I've read every book in the series and all of them have been good on pacing, but this one jumps all over the place in the time line, making it very difficult to read.

She did it once again. Don't read modern media if you don't like reading about relationships between lesbians. I apologize in advance for any inconsistencies because I am writing this at 1am.

T. Sutherland always has the best stories in this book. This book is good for kids 8 and older. It can be a little gruesome, but still great.

I only found out about this book series last year, but the books to wings of fire were good. The hive wing in Book twelve made me want to read the rest of the book. When I read the next book, I was shocked that the writer put a gay dragon in there with feelings for another dragon of the same sex, but I like the books and all. Help me. It would do better if it were sunny. I recommend this book for kids 12 and up because you don't put a little kid in front of these books and except him or her, I'm fine with this. The book should not be read by the audience. Hopefully this is helpful to parents.

For Wings of Fire fans

This book explains the story behind scavengers and also explains things that happened in earlier books, even though I haven't finished it yet. You won't understand if you haven't read the first 5 books. There are many mysteries uncovered in the book. It is worth every penny.

Amazing, makes me want to re-read some of the books in the series.

Excellent! I wanted to re-read 'The Dragonet Prophecy', 'The Brightest Night', and 'Winter Turning' to confirm some theories that I had when reading this. I re-read those books and found things that confirmed my theories and events in the book. If you own any of the books I mentioned, I suggest you read them first.

This book was pre-ordered by us. The kid is happy to read. I think that she is fairly progressive in her depiction of womengirl dragons.

awesome book. really good cliffhanger

The book was amazing and I like it. It was good to see the dragon world through humans. There is a chance that this was one of the best books in the fire series. Think again if you think wren should have accepted her parent's apology. They tried to sacrifice her to the dragons when she was only 7 years old. In the future, I hope that we find out what happens to wren and sky when the invincible lord is after them.
