I don't understand what a kid of any age gets from this book. The illustrations are cute. I read this book to children. The age group didn't care for the book. I'm either returning it or using the illustrations.

The book celebrates black women in history. I think this is a great book to show our little one diverse leaders throughout history. It is a sturdy board book and toddler friendly. The pages are easy to understand and intriguing to our almost 2 years old child. Doesn't get bored or overwhelmed by too much information. I like that we show our kids historic figures who may look different than they are, and that black women are normalized as leaders. It is one of our daughters favorites.
