   Our favorite!
I think it is perfect for teaching kiddos about emotion and feeling sad. The moral of the story is to ask someone how you could help and my daughter has picked up on this honestly. She reads almost every day this book. We make it more fun and add to the story, where we can sing a silly song for example, and before we turn the page, we sing a silly song with doo doo doo's and my kids always crack up! The pictures are beautiful and make it so my 3 year old, who can not read, can tell the story page by page. My children also love the beginning of the story so happy and ending so sad. It is a great ride and a wonderful story!

Cute way to teach key emotional concepts
Goose is having a hard time and his friends really try hard to cheer him up. The only problem is that they are so hard to make him feel good that they are not listening to what Goose says he needs. It is a great way to illustrate a few important concepts : 1) You must listen to what people say they need, 2) You can not imagine that other people would want what you would, and 3) Tell people what you need. It is simple and age appropriate, but I am pretty sure that there are a lot of adults out there who could also use this book.

   Cute Book
He loves Duck and Goose in general, but I love that this one talks about emotions and hugging. He's a little cuddler, but not a hugger, so this leads him to practice hugging and show that people need hugs when they are sad. I love that this author makes the characters so polite in his books, like saying, No thank you. In this book, Duck is sad and Goose and Thistle are trying to figure out what he needs. They ask him and then say : I know what you need... A game of tag, hide and seek, etc. At the end, Goose tells them that he needs a hug.
