Book Overview

From the New York Times bestselling creators of Click, Clack, Moo, comes an entertaning introduction to politics.

My fellow Americans:

It is our pleasure, our honor, our duty as citizens to present to you Duck for President. Here is a duck who began in a humble pond. Who worked his way to farmer. To governor. And now, perhaps, to the highest office in the land.

Some say, if he walks like a duck and talks like a duck, he is a duck.

We say, if he walks like a duck and talks like a duck, he will be the next president of the United States of America.

Thank you for your vote.

Duck-The Most Fun One Can Have During an Election!
It is presidential and more fun than any hillarious election that my students can conceive! We read and read this book and looked at every detail of the pictures. That is what is so great about this book, that you get something new with each reading of it. It is a favorite that is requested over and over again. Our lesson learned is that we have to work hard in all things, but not. We can also have fun doing it :

   My son loved his gift!
I recently ordered this book from Amazon for my 8-year-old birthday party of my son and he was so happy! My son is in the 2nd grade and he read this book in school, but he wanted to have it as many times as he wanted because he loved the story. As he opened his gift, my son pointed out the funny pictures right away. I was also very pleased with the price, as this book is priced at an average of $20 in most stores, and I received it for less than $14! Amazon - Thanks!

Great book to explain to kiddos how on to become president
As a teacher, this is one of my favorite books for teaching government and especially how one can rise through the ranks and become president. Although this is a bad example, it has lots of teachable points to help the little ones understand the election process.

Glad he realizes at the end that the job he ...
The comic way to portray the campaign trail is exemplary. Glad he realizes at the end that the job he thought was so easy, that he thought harder.

   They dynamic duo strikes again
You had me at Click Clack Moo and my son still breaks into hysterical gut busting laughter every single time he reads Giggle Giggle Quack. I said what is going on and he says it is Duck! It was educational and entertaining. My son also wants to run for president now so that he can get out of the chores.

Check out the illustration on the back!
Jools Holland is very funny, especially to Doreen Cronin. We have been studying Presidential campaigns & advertising this month, and this book kind of combines BOTH topics -- especially in the never-satisfied nature of Duck. Note : This book does not teach presidential elections. I would recommend interesting elections for presidential kids and other cool facts.

   Duck is a great favorite
I am a sucker for the books of Doreen Cronin. Duck likes me. This is just a really adorable book and full of fun. It also teaches a few hints to young people, too. Be very careful about what you want because if you don 't get it, you might not really want it. The illustrations are fantastic and the duck is just wonderful. This series is one of my favorite all-time series.

   Fun and subversive
I don 't have much to add to the other 5-star reviews except these points. The book has plenty of room for adults. Pay close attention to each time of sticky ballots and you will not see Florida-style chads, but the hints of election fraud. It is very intelligent, subtle and subversive. The folks concerned about it, teaching cynicism about the electoral process need to relax a little bit. By the time children are old enough to understand that Duck doesn 't have the greatest of motivations, they are old enough to understand that people do things for all kinds of reasons, good and bad. In this sense, the book is very real - world. My two-year-old, for months and months, loved this book. Conclusion : Kids like it ; it is somewhat educational and adults won t die repeatedly from reading it. The recommended content is highly rated.

WHAT A CLEVER IDEA ... SO TIMELY!
It is very wonderful and the illustrations are very clever. If I were a cow, I would definitely vote for electric blankets if I gave them more milk... or strike for a president who wouldn 't promise me at least that much. This author is very talented... as is the illustrator.
