Great addition to my library
Derived From Web , May 1, 2022
I recommend this book to anyone. The author did a great job teaching manners in a way that is engaging and comical, even though the book is fairly new. It was in the mail that my daughter saw it and immediately wasn't interested in reading it. In fact, McCartney says she likes it. No wonder kids get sick of it.

Manners in Progress
Derived From Web , May 1, 2022
I was hoping for a better ratio of pictures and storytelling compared with a kind of kid's guide book. I can't see older students who would be capable of reading this book, pick it up and read it on their own, but it's also challenging to read aloud because there isn't really a story line and there isn't enough pictures to support the text. It will still find its use and home in my office.

Funny, useful book to teach kids manners

In fact, my son is an avid reader. The book has communicated to him what I could not. Thanks for the compliment. I plan to use it with my other children to help them learn manners.

Must meet a pretty high standard.
Derived From Web , May 1, 2022
I sent it to my 30-something daughter to use with her two children ages 7 and 4 but cautioned her to use it only at her discretion. I was concerned that if Claudia read it, she might not think it appropriate for their ages. We all had heard an NPR discussion recently on children's manners. It's fine, and we can use all the help we can get with manners, she said. She had read some parts of the book with her 7 year old grand daughter and then gave it to the granddaughter to read on her own. And I concluded that the book must have met my daughter's rather high standards for reading.

Even my tween thought it was hilarious, although her rudeness still abounds. Maybe its time to read again?

teaching etiquette
Derived From Web , May 1, 2022
This book has been a great help in teaching my 3rd to 5th graders etiquette. There are a few statements I don't agree with and so the four star rating is justified.

Written well for kids to enjoy

At first, I was reluctant to read this, thinking it would be dull and full of shaming. He thought it was super funny and took it really well, and I have asked him to read it again.

Had some good points
Derived From Web , Feb 25, 2020
It's a little mature for a 9-year-old, McCartney said. It had some good points, too. The one who really needed it refused to read it, but his 7 year old brother did read it to him, and it prompted some good discussion.
