Book Overview

When Jonathan and his family go camping on Magpie Island, they look forward to a fun, relaxing weekend. But their fun quickly vanishes when Jonathan, his sister, Abby, and their dog, Moose, find themselves in the middle of a natural disaster. A devastating earthquake has hit, destroying their camper, knocking out the only bridge to the mainland, and leaving Jonathan, Abby, and their dog with no food, water, or shelter. Alone in the woods, can Jonathan manage to keep calm and save Abby and Moose--and stay alive himself?

   You must read this book!
The Palmer family were camping on Magpie Island when the earthquake hit, and they survived. Mr. Palmer rushed Mrs. Palmer to the hospital after she broke her ankle, leaving Jonathan, his sister, and their dog alone on the island. The book is good. I didn't want to put it down. The book was developed to be funny, scary, and exciting all at the same time. She said nature is stronger than humankind. There are many elements that you will enjoy in this book. Everyone should read this. On a scale of one to ten, I give this book ten stars. I would give this book a million stars if I could.

   Hook Line Sinker!
Start here if you are trying to get your child hooked on a fictional story. A fast paced story about love, perseverance, quick thinking, dependability, and survival. At your dinner table, Jonathan and Abby will open many conversations. I teach school and have read this to many of my students. The kid loved the story.
