   Beginning students can benefit
The John Thompson beginning piano series is an excellent way to learn. The pace is a little slower for young students. I like to teach with the red John Thompson beginning series book and the Lelia Fletcher beginning piano book. It helps to use a variety of beginning level books to keep students interested in John Thompson.

   John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course
I bought part 1 and part 2 of the piano courses. The cartoon characters in the books kept children interested in reading music notes, even if they weren't good at it. The children couldn't wait to move on to the next page. The children were able to play a song by the end of the course. When I was a kid, the basic piano course books were not available.
