   Perfect for young beginners
I bought it for a 12'9 yr and they didn 't put it down for several days, wood shavings everywhere ) it's a big hit with them.

   Good inspiration, not great “how to” details.
I bought this book for my 9 year old son to start whittling. It seems that this book has first ideas for twig and branch whittling, however, not from the block wood that he was mostly trying out. The detailed instructions for how to '' are not very detailed. For inspiration, this is a great book. But not so helpful with details.

   Grandsons couldn't wait to tear into these books!!
Boys aged 10 and 12 left the books and drifted into the teleconference the family was having! Gee, I bet they like it!
