Good introduction to colors
Derived From Web , Jan 30, 2021
I really like materials that bring together 2 concepts so well! It is enticing and engaging between the colors and visuals of a variety of fruits and vegetables! I received this book to share with my toddler classroom when we planted seeds to later plant outside. It was a good conversation starter and a good way to demonstrate how fun different foods can be for a very young group!

Incomplete? Where is purple?
Derived From Web , May 6, 2019
We bought this book because we are doing a unit of “ eating the rainbow â€. I like the concept of the book, but I am honestly shocked that the color purple is completely left out! Even more confusing is that it is included on the cover! But on the first page they show through blue only. How can you have a book that shows the colors of the rainbow in order, but leaves the last color out? And it is not like their aren 't plenty of purple foods-way more than the page of blue foods that is only blueberries. I am confused, but really, more disappointed as to why an additional page was not included. It's really like scholastic, but forgot to add the last page.

Just ok

Our 14 month old has lots of books, but we thought this would be a good book for the pre-dinner. There is not too much involved. The pictures are vivid, but she is just not that into it. We'll circle back to it in a few weeks and see if it changes.

Great start - more colors needed
Derived From Web , Jun 3, 2018
But disappointed that more was not done for a more comprehensive color and eating book. The spread for each color looked great, but I would have liked several more pages of food and a greater variety of colors. Rather than all greens together, maybe dark green and light green. The whole cuke with the slices is cut. Or orange fruits and white vegetables.. Where were the oranges the purples? The brown potatoes, beans are harvested. Black olives are also available. Or a few less common foods -- tofu, okra, plantains, bok choy, jicama.
