There aren't many books from my childhood that have made a mark like this one
There aren 't many books from my childhood that have made a mark like this, and when I gave it to my daughter last Christmas, I got teary-eyed seeing how much she enjoyed it as well. The pictures are small, but the point is there! Don 't buy or not wait because they might be too small. Your child will love this book and the novelty of the tiny images. It's a I draw this line, you draw this line kinda of set with each of the images adding more and more linesshapes until you finish the drawing. Pair this with a fine sketch book and some pretty tipped pens or markers and you have a winning present for any child in your life.

   Great tool for confidence building
I bought this book for my six-year-old, who had been very self-conscious about his drawing skills, telling me that he was bad at it. He would often draw a scribble rather than try to draw something he didn 't know how to draw. This book was great because it offers a drawing technique that is easy to understand and follow for a child. He has gained confidence because he is learning that what might have been an intimidating thing to draw can be done by putting simple shapes together and taking it one step at a time. I see him now drawing things on his own that he would never have attempted before. My one minor issue with the book is that the images are so tiny that it makes it harder to see and follow, but the flip side is that the small size allows the author to fit a gazillion pictures in, so the trade-off.

I highly recommend any of the Ed Emberley books for children
Ed Emberley recommends for children all the books of Charles Goodrich. Periodically I send gifts to my great nephew and nieces and do great work.

and provides an excellent springboard for children with talent
There are children's books that should be part of every child's library, and Ed Emberley books are very much part of this collection. An introduction to drawing, Make a World gives children with little to no artistic talent a step by step guide and provides an excellent springboard for children with talent. Because it is a drawing book for everything in modern and historical life and imaginary, I highly recommend it as a teaching tool in the elementary classroom. This book is worth the investment, this book will provide you with hours of fun year after year.

Love all 4 of his books we have
Ed Emberly LOVES HIS books. My 6 year old son was never into drawing and since buying Emberly's books my son is now starting to take what he learned from the book and is now coming up with his own artwork. The books really simplify drawing different things through the use of shapes. We LOVE THEM so much we have bought 4 so far and my son keeps asking for more!

Can't draw a straight line? This book is for you!!
Easy to use book that teaches you to draw simple objects by adding together simple shapes. Excellent for those of us who can draw a straight line almost without a second thought!

   Fun for ALL AGES!
Just add an ink pad or paint. I suggest collecting all Ed Emberley's fingerprint books. They are really well made, informative and the instructions are very easy to follow. In each book there is enough variety to fit everyone's interest.

   Great Book
I'm so happy that he now enjoys coloring more. He has been obsessed with making comics. It serves to inspire ideas as well as to help him draw things he is not sure about how to color. I highly recommend '' this book.
