My oldest is obsessed with John Cena, so I ordered the book first and ended up ordering this one right after and having the next one on pre order. They are a little young for my 10 year old, but he loves reading them to my 2 year old. Simple to read, not hard to follow at all. To make lots of fun sound effects, there are lots of sound effects.

Hilarious, With a Subtle Lesson
Derived From Web , Jun 17, 2020
Elbow Grease is a big pickup truck that competes in demolition derbys with his little electric brothers. Of course, since he is little, no one cheers for him. One day he learns that the biggest, baddest truck of all comes to compete in his Motozilla stadium. Elbow Grease creates a plan for himself and his brothers to team up to beat Motozilla. The illustrations are great, the story is cute, and the grandson and the granddaughters alike enjoyed it. You won 't regret buying this one for that special kid.

Terrible
Derived From Web , Jun 13, 2020
I wonder if most of the reviews are fake or a commentary on the author, rather than the book? There are so many different characters talking that it is very difficult to read it to a three-year-old. The perspective keeps shifting between the narrator and the main character and away from the other characters. The star of the show was Elbow Grease. Then there is a small speech bubble above Elbow's head that says : Awww, you guys make me blush. And the message is so contrived and blatant and developed so quickly that it is painful to take the big mean guy together and win.

Meh, didn't love it.
Derived From Web , Jun 4, 2020
The premise of this book is valid -- about believing in yourself and growing confidence to do things you are not the best at. But I am not a fan of how this is presented with this mean villain who looks scary and who has basically been bullying the smaller guys until they all gang up on him and kill him. Just not sure that this is the best way to portray these real-life challenges.

Great art, odd story
Derived From Web , May 23, 2020
The art is great and my 4 year old boy loves monster trucks so there are more sure plusses. The story is odd though, it assumes that we are already familiar with these characters, and then strikes an odd balance between the language taught versus the concept used, where it feels difficult to know what age it is intended for. Was not quite the hit I expected with the little ( ).

Great message, perfect delivery
Derived From Web , Jan 19, 2020
My two boys are obsessed with this book because of the illustrations - lots of monster truck action! I love this for the messages about teamwork, diversity and resilience. It feels very on point '' with parenting trends, in a way that is artful and not obnoxious. I've given it to both my sisters'families for Christmas and was a hit with their families as well.

Must Buy for boys or Girls!
Derived From Web , Nov 9, 2019
We need more anti-bullying real life books that we can actually use to train our children into being a good part of society. Highly recommend and so happy that someone cares about children. John Cena thanks. My daughter even did her school project on this and is only in kindergarten.

Great Sequel that compliments a great original
Derived From Web , Oct 12, 2019
Bought the first book in the series after my son fell in love with the second Elbow Grease book. John Cena and his team hit it again out of the park. While the first book is about overcoming adversity and never giving up, this second book focuses on how people or trucks '' can be strong by themselves, but are even stronger as a team. My 4 year old loves it and has me reading it twice in a row during nighttime stories. If you don 't have this or the first, do yourself the favor and get both. In closing, pictures and story are wonderful. I am hoping that this catches even more and they do a few more books.
