Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

Emily Windsnap must travel through time in order to save the people of her hometowns -- both human andmerfolk -- in the exciting ninth book of the New York Times best-selling series.

When Emily makes a wish on a magic stone, she gets a glimpse of what the future holds -- and it's a disaster She tries to make things right, but each trip through time takes Emily to a future where things turn out badly for either the humans of Brightport or the merpeople of Shiprock. Plastic pollutes the ocean, garbage overflows the landfills, and the two towns are no longer getting along. Emily realizes she can't save her hometown and the ocean alone, but with help from her best friends, Shona and Mandy, she'll have to find a way to get humans and merpeople to work together. Will Emily be able to create a better future for everyone, including herself? This new adventure gives readers a glimpse at what Emily and her friends could be like as grown-ups, with a fresh story that explores how uniting communities can make a future that's bright for everyone.

   Good read
This was purchased for my granddaughter, who loves the Emily Windsnap series. This was the final book in the series, so she has them all now.
   Great series for age 8-13
My daughter has loved all Emily Windsnap books and this is no exception! Highly recommended all Emily Windsnap books.
Not the same publisher as the other books
She noted that it was written differently than the other books, which was when we looked it up that the publisher is different than the other books in the series. She would have preferred the same writing style, but I did not notice anything different when I ordered the book. The production description could perhaps make this distinction?
   Favorite series
Inside, nothing inappropriate and it inspired her to write her own stories.
Great series, but this was her least favorite.
She has her own personal opinion.
   time travel any one
Emily and her friends get a look at different possible futures for Nick. One that is not so great for those who live on land, and another for those who live in the water. Emily has to find a way to bring back her time loop full circle and bring back to the present to make sure neither of these futures come to pass. What makes this story especially different was that instead of being concerned about running into her future self, Emily finds herself in her own future body.
   Worthy addition to the series
The way it is written makes me think that the intended market is girls about Emily's age, 13. Emily saves the day and manages to help both the Humans and the Mercer people. No swearing, not really much violence... it should be safe enough for your 12-13 year old. She might even understand the effects of Emily traveling through time or get a little confused. Written for a 12 year old, her father might also find some good points. Not really the place to start a collection, but a good addition to the series.
