Absolutely horrible writing in desperate need of a competent Editor
Derived From Web , Apr 18, 2021
These are some of the worst books I' ve read in a long time. Two books have been completed so far. The pages have been torture. The characters in the story don't have charm or believability. A blue whale could swim through the holes in the plot. The lack of editing is not good. According to the text, Emily is 3 foot 8 inches tall. That is the size of a small child. It's not clear if characters are in or out of the water. We swam in a boat. People are snapping their fingers in the water. Emily is willing to allow her island to be destroyed in order to be friends with another girl. It's hard.

My girls love these!
Derived From Web , Apr 8, 2021
My daughters are 9 and 11 years old. Whenever my girls are in the water, they pretend they' re mermaids. The books in the series were so good they blew through them. Shortly after I bought this set, I had to order two more. They' ve shared the books with their friends, who' ve enjoyed them as well. This is the set for a girl who loves to play with toys.

Great for my 8yr old!
Derived From Web , Jun 16, 2019
My child is in 3 rd grade. She was obsessed with Emily Windsnap after reading the first book. We bought book 6 and 7 for her to read. I was worried it would be hard for her to read but it is perfect. It has kept her interested and made her think. The book will have a hard word and a definition which I love. I bought her a Judy Moody book because I wanted it to last her longer. It has done it! She read about 2 to 3 weeks in each book. It has changed her and saved me money, which is a plus. I started reading them to encourage her and I think they are cute. It's something we can talk about and I can get a sense of what she learned. If I dedicate a few hours a day to reading, it will take me about 2 or 3 days to read one.

Not Good or Beautiful
Derived From Web , Apr 17, 2019
The Emily Windsnap series has an excellent star rating, so I thought it would be great to keep my girls excited about reading. The true, good and beautiful are what we aim for in literature. This series doesn't meet the standards. Emily had lied to her mother and friend many times in the first book. She sneaks out of the house to go swimming. The book was not good for my daughter because of the use of words like idiot, shut up, and using God's name in vein. She said that the book made her feel bad. 2 Stars for a good premise, just wish it wasn't delivered with sub- par messaging.

Absolutely love it for my 7 year old!
Derived From Web , Feb 22, 2018
My daughter just turned 7 years old and I bought her this set. I knew she would enjoy reading and I was sure she would. We read several chapters together every night and I am proud of her, the books are great. They keep her entertained and interested in reading. I knew it would be a challenge, but she has learned a lot of new words. Absolutely love this set. My son is very fond of hearing in on us reading.

Cute story
Derived From Web , Jun 7, 2017
We wanted to read to our daughter. She really enjoys the story. The story is more complex than other chapter books we have read, so she was a bit bored at times. Our 11 year old asked her sister to give them to her.
