Why So much random smut after four decent novels?

I was drawn by my sister, who convinced me to read it. '' The other books were entertaining and quick reads. This book was fine until it seemed to the author that she needed as many raunchy sex scenes as possible. The reason why is not certain. All they did was oblique from the story and, more importantly, felt like they were sunk for shock and then as a solid part of the narrative. Sometimes, less is more. Hope the next one, the author returns to creating a solid story, since the series seems to be veering down.

Twists, turns & shocking secrets revealed!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
Oh how Maas did it again! I loved so much this sequel ''. It gave small hints of several situations that Aelin will face without going too detailed into them that once the reader gets to the conclusion, they'll think I figured that was going to happen. Maas has made herself Aelin and we are all alike and we are having heart attacks when she finally unveils her plans with the characters. I was so blindsided at the end and my heart crumbled into a thousand pieces for what Aelin is confronted with when dealing with one of the antagonists. Literally, I saw none of it coming and I loved it. I enjoyed the more adult, but classy love moments between some characters. I am so scared and excited for the next one. I am so scared for the next one. Will Aelin rise above fate and fight for her own life. Will a certain antagonist be brought down low or create a victory and weapon more powerful than anything else? Another year until we have the answers!! ! !

This book rattles the freaking stars! ALL OF THEM!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I. I. I. Am. Am. Am. Ruined, Ruined. This is my favorite in the series, and it broke me completely. Excuse Me, while I wallow in my misery and willingly go through it all again. While my heart is so confused by this book, while it is absolutely crushed, it soaring with joy and pride for the characters. I can 't wait to see how SJM will complete the conclusion. I am not ready for the end, but I desperately need to know how they will all make it okay. Because they will. I'm not in denial with Shh, I'm not in denial. The climax had me sobbing . Have not had tears so steadily gushing down my cheeks because of a book in a long time... I'll now relive the happy moments before I am wrecked beyond repair.

This is a review of the quality of product I received, not of the book itself
Derived From Web , Mar 12, 2021
I am not happy with the quality of the hardcover copy I received. I bought this brand new and I'm 100 pages in and have found several ink spots, the paper is thin and I have two jacket covers. I also bought this from Amazon so that I don 't think it is a bootleg copy. If this was printed by Bloomsbury, however, they really need to tighten quality control. I have had zero issues with the paperbacks and am honestly shocked at the lower quality and the apparent lack of quality control. If they are selling their quality rejects, I appreciate being told that's what I am getting.

What a ride!
Derived From Web , Jul 7, 2020
Although this book was just as long, I zipped through it much faster than the last. The action seemed to come much more consistently now, possibly because there are so many characters that something was always going on with one of them. I actually became much more invested in the more secondary characters like Elide and Manon this time. My only complaint was trying to follow Aelin's convoluted schemes and the revelations made by Elena. Fortunately, I won 't have to wait for the sequels for years.

not suitable young adult content
Derived From Web , Jan 10, 2020
I like reading YA novels because they usually skip the steamy bedroom scenes and usually refrain from the use of crude language. I enjoyed the first 4 books of this series by Sarah Maas thoroughly enjoyed, but regret purchasing this installment and the books that complete this series. I have not completed Empire of Storms because of the inclusion of adult themes, the book seems to be based on lust rather than adventure or simple romance. I regret having purchased the other books in this series and will not read them-and am unable to return them because once I realized where the author was going with the story, the return time frame has expired. I think it is unfortunate when an author has to rely on smut as a means to sell books on the market, and compete in the marketplace.

4.5 star read.
Derived From Web , Mar 1, 2018
While I loved the book overall, there were times I felt it was dragged and I wished it would hurry up and get to another POV. I loved Manon and her 13 ''s and Elide and Lorcan's POVs the most, and Manon and her 13s the most. The turning point that made this a 4.5 read was finally around the halfway point when more action happened. By the end of it, my teeth and jaw ached from grinding my teeth together, and all that had been revealed... man. It made up for the parts that I felt were a bit slow. Now I can 't wait to read the next book and see what happens next! Since it took me about a week to read this, which is unusual for me, since I can devour a story like this within a day or two, I rate this 4.5 stars for me.

NOT APPROPRIATE FOR YOUNG ADULTS
Derived From Web , Oct 20, 2017
My daughter was introduced by a classmate to this series. I usually read the book reviews and after having prepared the first three in the series, I thought it would stay about the same as far as content. This book is NOT suitable for young adults. It is NOT appropriate for young adults. Even my young daughter was disgusted by the gratuitous sex and bad language in this book. The author has risen to the level of salacious adult romance novels. I am very disappointed. She lost her way as a serious writer. She lost her way as a serious writer. I really wish that I had read all the reviews. A warning about this is the description, PLEASE place a warning about it.

Best so far.
Derived From Web , Sep 10, 2017
This is so far the best of the series. The first two were a bit long and slow. This one was very well done. Although Aelin is somewhat caustic and unlikable, although Aelin is somewhat unlikable and unlikable. Besides Chaol, he is my least favorite part of the books. I like Rowan better though, and I am liking Rowan's better. And his relationship with Aelin is much more interesting. And his relationship with Aelin is much more interesting. I like the addition of romance and sex. It's not overdone and compliments the story. Manon is awesome and I am really excited about Elide and Lorcan. I think that the Court of Mist may still be my fave though. Just the way Maas twisted the plot, ingenious, just the way Maas made the plot. I love the relationship between BN Feyre and Rhys, I love the relationship BN feyre and Rhys. Not Love '' a guy who thinks everyone is cold and dark, but turns into someone you root for and is interesting to read about.

Extraordinary Book
Derived From Web , Jan 24, 2017
I am absolutely in love with this book. '' I have been reading both of Sarah J. Maas'current series and the author never fails to create a new masterpiece. The book was so well-written and difficult to write, the only issue I have is that it ended too soon. This book really focused on character development and the obstacles that the main characters must face are original and leave you at the edge of your seat. The book ended in true Sarah J. Maas style, on a shocking cliffhanger. I can 't wait for the next in the series, I can 't wait for the next one in the series.
