   Quick read
I received this book from a friend who used it in her Bible study class. I recommend reading even before your children are taken from the home. High School - School. Some mommas need time to prepare their hearts! Lol Pray is early for your empty nest home!! God showed up! I have been presenting this book to women in my life, a great book.
Great faith based resource for parents of graduates
I often recommend this book, especially for women who are struggling to redefine their goals as their children graduate. Jill offers practical encouragement and a healthy approach for interacting with adult children.
I was encouraged by this book for the first chapter or the second. No offense, but the stories of the authors'children were for me almost too personal. All it did was to bring me down, not to encourage me.
   Empty Nest, Full Life
An interesting book, a must-read, Empty Nest Full Life is for anyone who finds in the empty nest years or anticipates that she will be an excellent one. It is loaded with good suggestions about how to spend the years after your children have grown and flown.
Once Again Jill Savage does not disappoint!
Once again, Jill's wisdom shines through her work. Jill writes from her heart and is honest. She can write about some hard truths about which most of us would not write. You get your children to leave, spread their wings and start their own life. But no matter how prepared you are for this launch into the world you really are not. It is never early to read. The journey of emotions through each stage of your child's life can be difficult. It is great relief to know that you are not alone on the journey.
   Letting go doesn't mean loss!
This summer I said with a lump in my throat goodbye to my boys as they went off to Europe, a beautiful marriage, new jobs and college life! I wanted to deny an empty nest but in our full life of Empty Nest, Jill Savage shows that leaving it does not mean a loss. When I am gone, I am free to embrace the new work of God in my sons. My love will continue and our relationships will be even stronger. What about it, is it true that I can be content with it? According to Jill, there may be an empty nest, but there is a full life to be experienced. Empty Nest, Full Life '' showed me how.
Navigate the empty nest years with grace and purpose
I am a new empty-nester and although my husband and I did not find this transition too difficult, we have had some great conversations about what comes next in the life of our family. Reading Jill's book helped me understand that not only are my young adult children experiencing a transition period, but so am I, and so is my husband. My favorite chapter is chapter 5, Letting Go of Your Child's Problems ''. In our family, we call this not jumping on the roller coaster with our kids ''. I found Jill's words about the emotional drain of carrying too much of our children's issues particularly timely. I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to navigate the empty nest years with grace and purpose.
   Looking forward to the years
Children who are already out of the nest and others who are still at home. It has helped me see some things we do right, things we need to change and adjust, and great adventures to look forward to in our encore years!
Excellent resource for navigating ALL the emotions of an empty or emptying nest!
Whether your nest is fully empty, with some birds out and others still in or looking towards this upcoming transition, THIS book is a must read. Her writing is full of great wisdom in helping to navigate the full range of emotions that brings this season. She has given me so much to think about in terms of where to hold and where to go. Packed full of spiritual direction, practical solutions and constant self reflection questions that help you work through the countless emotional changes. So grateful for how her book helps me make this adjustment with better clarity, spiritual stability, practical direction and a deeper emotional walk. It has been such a comfort in knowing that ALL emotions are normal and reading it is like having a mentor walking beside you. Sometimes she writes great truths and sometimes it is great encouragement, but that is the making of a hard book that you will reach for time and time again.
Jill Savage is insecure, honest, and points in her journey through and through the empty nest years. I have been an empty nester for 2 years now and it helped me to move relationally in the right direction with my adult children. The themes of expectation, guilt, traditions and opinions were discussed together with new passions, new friendships and a new season in marriage! Every minute I have enjoyed thoroughly and have told my empty nest friends all about it. I loved it so much that I host a Bible study this fall! Jill Hats Off to Jill! I highly recommend it! ''
