Great "Read With Your Kids" Books

My son and I take turns, each reading a page aloud until we get to the end of the story, and then we discuss what we think happened and why. Sometimes we are wrong and sometimes we are right. It is a lot of fun and it helps him to find the details in the stories. If you have a child at the middle school, I highly recommend any of these books.

My six-year-old granddaughter can not get enough books from Encyclopedia Brown! She goes through one in a day, then rereads it several times. Her father, my son, loved them when he was a little older than he is now.

Adult nostalgia and children's enjoyment

I read some Encyclopedia Brown books when I was a kid 40 years ago. I bought these on Amazon and immediately saw a few for my eight-year-old daughter. She is an advanced reader and once she starts one of these books, she can 't put it down. I also bought these because the mysteries included help develop critical thinking, which is not enough in school these days. After reading the multiple stories in these books, I 'll try to present it before checking the back of the book and we talk through the facts presented and I let her think through the logic and explain it to me, and she loves the AHA! When she speaks through the facts, the clue leads to solving the mystery. Good for quality thinking and spending critical time with your kids.
