Helpful for experienced and novice developers alike
Derived From Web , May 12, 2022
This is a very complete book, bringing both experienced and novice in Scrum value. For experienced developers and project managers, the book offers a complete list of features and recommendations about what specific tools to use in different phases of a scrum initiative. This list works as a repository of the best practices that experienced personnel can aggregate into their projects. For non-experienced developers, the book takes the time to explain exactly how Scrum works and why things in a certain way are done in Scrum projects, although still making it clear that each Scrum team will probably deviate a little of the practices listed in the book because of their specific context. Ultimately, a very good resource to have as part of a portfolio of agile tools.

Great reference, but illustrations terrible
Derived From Web , May 12, 2022
As a member of an organization that adopted scrum and tried to teach us how to teach practice, I really thought that this book was helpful. It should have been live reading before it was required. It is a great reference without being prescriptive. I would have given this five stars, but the illustrations are just terrible. They are clear, and all labels are in a script-y, serif-y font that is difficult to read and will not be used for reproduction as a handout. Without them, the book would be shorter and better.

I found the book useful even after years of using Scrum in projects. I have not yet finished it, but already found what I did wrong or less than needed, it helps discover good practices. My recommendation is read hard ''.

I also had the chance to attend a training from Ken and that was a great experience on its own. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone, whether with or without previous experience with Agile.

Passable as overview, for beginners only
Derived From Web , May 17, 2021
This book was released almost 10 years ago and is considered outdated, given that many Scrum concepts and terms have changed. If you are a scrum beginner looking for a high-level overview, this book might help, but there are several more current books that are superior. I recommend reading Sutherland books, which are much more accurate and useful.

BUY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Derived From Web , Jan 8, 2021
I purchased Ken's Scrum Master Training and took this book thinking-why not? I am very much pleased at the organization and the additional breakdown of each aspect of Scrum. This book covers BOTH the basics as well as providing an explanation of the framework so that you can begin applying scrum principles with your teams and projects. This is an EXCEPTIONALLY written manual on how to perform and ensure that you add value to your teams. If you are jumping over the fence, jump over it! I would suggest attending his training course as well as a very thorough and great overview, but this book pushes the envelope and will enable you to achieve your agile goals in your career and your organization.

Project Management
Derived From Web , Aug 8, 2020
This book was part of our class on project management at the University of South Florida. It provided some detailed information on SCRUM. It was easy to understand. For our course, there were some areas where it was not as helpful, but could be due to how our professor structured his course.
