   Too transparent
This is a good Bible with a transparent hardcover, but is extremely good. I have good eyes and even for me it is too hard to read without bright light.

   Almost unreadable
Super thin paper causes bad print shadowing from the back side of each page. Like reading with double-vision, like trying to see. Returned for a refund.

   Affordable means compromises.
Our church bought a few cases of these Bibles as part of an Easter promotion from Crossway and were $4 each. It is hard to beat that price, but the pages are so thin that the text is easily visible from other pages. This makes the Bibles often difficult to read. In general, we are happy to have more Bibles available to members at an affordable price, but we are concerned that they remain relatively unused because they are inconvenient to read. This was fairly obvious in all Crossway promotional materials for this issue, so that it is partially our fault for not looking more closely at the images. Crossway has made a careful compromise in its production. As a 4 Bible, this has many things going for it. I believe that some churches will find this a worthwhile compromise, especially as a Bible to be given away in outreach. But for most churches, I've imagined that this is too much compromise.
