Profound was found by James Profound. SImple is a simple but effective method of obtaining credit. Elegant : It is hard to go wrong with books by Peter Parnall and illustrated by Byrd Baylor. I am a former Montessori teacher and use these books every year. I include them in my Peace Bibliography for Children, which I share with other teachers. The messages in these books are always big, but are never told in a preachy tone or a patronizing manner. The reader is very respectful of the child. I can not say enough about this particular title or about any others made by this team.

This book has different illustrations and is such a delightfully beautiful story for the little ones. My 4 year old loves it and I could also see a 10 year old reading it! Beautiful, simple and necessary in this crazy world we live in.

To encourage reading by youngsters
Derived From Web , Jul 12, 2021
This was recommended to me by my daughter, who has experience in working with young people. I needed something to read to 7-8 year old children as part of our Rotary Club program. The children loved the book and I gave them each a copy of his own, plus I let them choose from a large selection of rocks I had brought with him. I received notes from all the wonderful children.

Childhood staple

This is a book that I bought for nearly every friend who had a kid. It is one of the most simple illustrated beautifully. I had this as a kid and many years later, the art style still influences my own designs and is just a beautiful departure from the Doras and Barneys and mainstream - loudness.

Love sharing books by Byrd Baylor with the little ones
Derived From Web , Feb 16, 2021
I purchased this book to read with my grandchildren ages 5 and 2. When we are in the woods, we love to find special rocks and sometimes bring them home. We love to connect with our rocks and this book was a special way to learn about finding a good rock. My 5 year old grandson enjoyed the book more than the 2 year old, but I am sure that as the little one grows, he will also enjoy it. We are regularly in nature so that we can not bring home too many rocks and this book shared how we only need a special rock. I think that any little ones who love the outdoors and exploring will enjoy this book.
