I'm in college and I love this book!
Derived From Web , Apr 13, 2021
While this is a fairly simple language, it covers a lot in an easy to absorb way. When I was first in school, we didn 't have STEM options. Now that I'm in college for some new computer science degrees, there is a lot that is really old to me. I'm going through a degree and a half and I'm still finding this book handy. Some stuff just doesn't click and the cute way this is put together is actually really helpful in causing things to actually stay in my brain. They should really take the middle part of the title and maybe put a different description because it is clearly good for all ages.

Thoughts from a grandpa with a CS degree...
Derived From Web , Nov 4, 2020
I really like this little book ''. I picked it up to check out as a potential way to introduce my grand children to computer science. It really gives an excellent birds - eye view of the topic in a quick and easy read. After reading this, I think I'm going to dive into Scratch to see if I can create something that will be a great ice breaker when the time comes for my grandchildren to provide their introduction to the theme. I placed this Complete Middle School Study Guide right next to The Pragmatic Programmer and Practical Vim Edit Text at the Speed of Thought '' as books I would have loved to discover before I received my Computer Science degree. So its for middle schoolers, well this is a grandpa with a computer science degree that thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping my grandchildren will also share the time when the time comes to share. p.s. p.s. p.s. I'm also interested in checking out other topics in the Complete Middle School Study Guide and picking them up too.

A great intro to coding!
Derived From Web , Aug 7, 2020
We were really nervous about starting this new school year with virtual learning, but my daughter loves it and even asked to expand into coding lessons. I had purchased several other Everything You Need '' books and knew that this would be a great starting point since those worked so well. At this point, I’m pretty sure we have the full set. Lessons are not written in a boring textbook format. They’re engaging, have comics and artwork, and the handwriting style font makes children feel like lessons aren 't so formal. I recommend this and the others for anyone with an interest in home learning or coding. I defiantly recommend this and the others for anyone with an interest in learning or coding.

Missing text in Kindle edition?
Derived From Web , Jul 8, 2020
We use this as an elective for my son's homeschooling. I bought the hard copy for my son and the Kindle edition for my husband and today we discovered that the lyrics are missing pretty early on. I'm not sure if there is more, but I'm kind of disappointed. ***over a month with no feedback from Amazon or anyone, it appears to be a formatting error either with the e-book or the Kindle itself, zooming in fixes the issue ***about 30% of the time! Is there a readers - fix coming?

Great for Independent Learning and Review
Derived From Web , Jun 29, 2020
Gives clear explanations for concepts, gives clear explanations for them. It is not a comprehensive guide, but it is pretty comprehensive as an introductory course or refresherreference. I use it as summer reading for my son. He is learning more about programming and coding basics while reading through a non-fiction book, more about programming and coding basics. Each chapter has questions that I can ask him to check the comprehension and the answers are included. I also go through the chapters and come up with random questions of my own. He can then practice the skills by going to Scratch or a Python program and doing coding on his own. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and plan to buy more books from this series.

Amazing book, just one problem...
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2020
This book is an educational book that is very amazing. But in the Kindle edition, there are pages where most of the words are invisible. I had to copy and paste them just to see it, and often it happens, so PLEASE fix this ''. Otherwise, it was an informative book that was very, very amazing.
