Beautiful, celebratory companion story

Stars that Speak to the Stars is a picture book about a boy who discovers the dazzling, rising light in his eyes and the eyes of his family. The story begins with a hurtful incident at school. A child has drawn a picture of the main character, and in the illustration the boy's eyes are drawn like two lines. Baba stands with him at the mirror and says : At home, the boy's Baba stands in the mirror and says : Your eyes rise to the skies and speak to the stars. The words of positivity and truth lead the boy into intimate intergenerational moments where he recognizes the unique light in each of his relatives'eyes from his Baba and Agong to his baby brother Di-Di. Eyes that Speak to the Stars is a beautiful and celebratory story that reminds readers that they are the emperors of their own destiny with bright futures ahead.

This heartwarming lyrical story celebrates the strong family bonds in this little boy's life, between himself and his father, his grandfather and his little brother. A good reminder that everyone is worthy and special and deserving of a promising future. The illustrations are also gorgeous! I've attached a photo of one of the spreads so that you can see the loving father-son relationship in the illustrations.
