Beautiful!

I saw this book reviewed on a blog and immediately fell in love with the comb styles page featured in it. So I wanted to take a better look at the book to see if it was something that could be gifted to friends and family this holiday season, and was not disappointed. The illustrations are well done and the whole book is full of color. The biggest surprise was how my autistic son LOVED it! We laid in bed for an hour talking about the different parts of a farm, the plants and the animals, he said. I don't have coffee table books, but this might make its way there to be enjoyed by the whole family.

Comprehensive Country Life

Julia Rothman had the guts to go ask some of these farmers how things work, which is more nerve-wracking than I ever had. We lived in a farm house with a gable-roofed barn and worked constantly with the mowers, balers and dump-rakes shown in this book. He said the cows were his father's pets. He also said he has samples of most of the breeds that were described within. He could remember plowing with his father's horses on his family's farm, just up the road. Note the artist's reference.

My kids LOVED it!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I found it more of a kids' book than an adult's. Each chapter was only a page or two, so I enjoyed it. Less pics and more substance are needed to reach a 5 star rating. I give it 3.5 stars. This book is simply too good to be true, Witt said.

My husband loves it!

He bought me a car for my husband, the want-a-farmer. He tinkers with tractors and other old farm stuff, plants, and even a few cows, Mr. Dhaliwal said. This book has a lot of fun facts about farming, too, Sosa said. I have not seen him read a book in a long time.

Not for anyone with farm knowledge
Derived From Web , Dec 2, 2021
Super cute and great illustrations. It is a great present for someone that is interested in farming or maybe a kid. It's a very fast read, even for a lawyer. Basic farming procedures, equipment and animals. The author is very upfront at beginning of book about only visiting a family farm and actually living in New York City. If you already farm, there is nothing useful.

Beautiful

Daughter borrowed one from the library and fell in love, so we ordered all 4. Simple but beautiful illustrations by Frank Quattrone. Note, there are some areas of the book that are written in cursive, and might frustrate any youngins who never learned it. Mine has but the font is a little sloppy on some letters here and there, so she was sble to figure them out or ask for clarification of she couldn't.
