Book Overview

We are standing on shaky ground.

As a wave of violent riots protesting the death of a black man at the hands of police shook the nation in the summer of 2020, most Americans were shocked. Christians nationwide, eager to fulfill their God-given calling to bring peace and reconciliation, took to pulpits and social media in droves to affirm that black lives matter and proclaim that racial justice is a gospel issue.

But what if those Christians, those ministers, and those powerful ministries don't know the whole story behind the new movement that's been making waves in their congregations? Even worse: what if they've been duped into adopting a set of ideas that not only don't align with the Kingdom of God, but stand diametrically opposed to it?

In this powerful book, pastor, professor, and leading cultural apologist Voddie Baucham explains the sinister worldview behind the social justice movement and how it has quietly spread like a fault system, not only through our culture, but throughout the evangelical church in America. He also details the devastation it is already wreaking--and what we can do to get back on solid ground before it's too late.

Whether you're a layperson who feels like you've just woken up in a strange new world and wonder how to engage both sensitively and effectively in the conversation on race, or a pastor who's wondering how to deal with increasingly polarized factions within your congregation, this book will provide the clarity and understanding you need to either hold your ground, or reclaim it.

   Disappointed
Voddie is trying to appease a certain group of people. He doesn't seem to realize that the majority of the book is about bashing the black community. There are some truths in the book, but he didn't offer much practical and constructive resolution to the fault lines he brought out. It had been said that leaders come with problems but also with viable solutions.

Poorly done at best, dishonest at worst.
Very poor. There are a lot of caricatures and misrepresentations. A culture war weapon that will cause a lot of heat, little light, and divide the brothers. Honesty and charity are the true fault line. The book is on the side of not.

A truly sinister worldview masterfully exposed!
Voddie Baucham is a man who is deeply grounded in the Word of God and I am so thankful for him. This man understands what it means to speak the truth in love. He speaks clearly and directly. Voddie Baucham isn't like a lot of other speakers and writers, he doesn't leave you wondering what he thinks. Dr. Baucham shares some of his life with us. He does a great job of helping us understand the monster that is the Social Justice movement and how it is infiltrating the body of Christ. He helps us to see how things have been with us. The title of the book implies that you are waiting underground. Everyone should buy a copy of the book.

   Solid, Scriptural, Courageous Truth
Dr. Baucham's writings are solid from a spiritual, personal and biblical perspective. His handling of the Word as it relates to the claims of Critical Race Theory and social justice movement sets a standard for followers of Jesus based on biblical truth. His courage to share and lean sound doctrine into the noise of babbling is a beacon to any who are pursuing God's heart related to the sin of racism. May people listen to what the Lord has to say to the church and follow his commands to share the good news with others.

A very Important book for Christians to read.
Dr. Voddie Baucham wrote a book about the dangers of buying into Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality. If you have listened to his warnings in lectures, sermons, conferences or interviews before, he will give you his background and reason for opposing the issues. He shows how intersectionality is a threat to the true gospel by breaking down the worldview of CRT. The book is very important for Christians to read. If you know anything about the author before you read, Dr. Baucham will hold nothing back and I am grateful for that.
